INTEGRATIVE BIOETHICS AND
URGENT PROBLEMS OF CONTEMPORANEITY
In certain social and historical periods some of man’s pressing issues
become the focus of philosophical and scientific interest, due to their social
and human relevance and urgency.
Thus, the contemporary epoch encounters the problems of bioethics,
i.e. moral reflection and behaving towards all life (bios) under the conditions
of rapid technical development and the ecological crisis connected
with it, as well as the biological and other endangerments in the contemporary
world.
The current discussions are, for instance, the ones of the beginning of
individual human life, clinical and brain death, abortion, euthanasia, gene
techniques problems, genetic engineering, therapeutic cloning, etc., and
the social and moral justifiability of their possible results. The question is
how to use this, without the existing dangers, for the benefit of human life
and life in general.

Problematična de(re)konstrukcija temeljnih koncepata –
bolesti, zdravlja i liječničke brige
Tehnološki napredak u medicini nalazi svoje čvrsto uporište u dvije
sukcesivne, ali međusobno čvrsto isprepletene paradigme koje vladaju medicinskom
kulturom: biomedicinskoj paradigmi i paradigmi medikalizacije.
I dok je zamašnjak prvom modalitetu medikalizacije primarno dao
liječnik, zamašnjak novom modalitetu medikalizacije primarno daje tehnologija.
Oslanjajući se sve više na tehnološke procedure i metode, ključna
komponenta medikalizacije postaje danas »lov« na apsolutno zdravlje.
Osim krajnje problematične de(re)konstrukcije koncepta bolesti i
zdravlja, nove tehnologije dovode i do dekonstrukcije koncepta liječničke
