In this paper we will present the results of survey conducted among<br />

returnee families in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton. The study was prospective.<br />

We used the questionnaire on the satisfaction with healthcare services<br />

(using the methodology of EUROPEP).<br />

OVISNOST O VIDEO-IGRAMA<br />

Ovisnost o video-igrama je pretjerana ili nagonska upotreba računala<br />

i video-igara koje interferiraju s dnevnim životom. U medicini ne postoji<br />

formalna dijagnoza ove ovisnosti. Simptomi ove ovisnosti sliče onima u<br />

drugim psihološkim ovisnostima poput kockanja ili konzumiranja alkohola<br />

i droge. Radi se, dakle, o bolesti poremećaja impulsa. U izlaganju će<br />

biti prikazan istinit primjer s tragičnim ishodom ovisnosti o video-igrama:<br />

bračni par iz Koreje zanemarivao je svoju prerano rođenu, tromjesečnu<br />

kćerku; hranili su je jednom u 12 sati. Ostatak vremena provodili su u<br />

obližnjem internet-cafeu igrajući video igru »Prius«. Dijete je naposljetku<br />

umrlo od neishranjenosti. Na kraju sudskog postupka (prvi pravno razmatran<br />

slučaj ovisnosti o video-igrama) osuđeni su: otac na dvije godine zatvora,<br />

a majka, koja je ponovno trudna, oslobođena je krivnje.<br />

VIDEO GAME ADDICTION<br />

Video game addiction is excessive or compulsive overuse of computer<br />

or video games that interferes with daily life. There is no formal diagnosis<br />

of this addiction in current medical literature. The symptoms are similar to<br />

those of other proposed psychological addictions, like gambling, alcohol<br />

and drug overuse. The presentation will bring out information about a tragic<br />

event which happened in September last year: a South Korean couple allowed<br />

their own prematurely born three month old baby daughter to starve<br />

to death, while they nurtured and cared for a virtual baby online. Most of<br />

the time they were spending in an internet café playing fantasy video game<br />

named “Prius”. Five months after they reported the death of their baby the<br />
