In the long run this poses the ethical dilemma of whether and how the
health professional has mental and physical capacity to control psychological
crisis of the “state of disease”. That is, the ethical dilemma is how
much can a health professional within his service be exposed to contamination
with “patients’ states”. A particular ethical problem arises in situations
when it is evident that health professionals do not have empathy for the
condition of patients and their families and sometimes their “professionalism”
creates additional injury to the patient and causes some problems for
the health professionals.
Unatoč protivljenju brojnih zdravstvenih radnika takvim zakonskim odredbama,
i raznovrsne posljedice takvih zakonskih odredbi, među kojima ističem bitno
HEALTHCARE WORKER – POLICE INFORMER?
Some European countries (German, Italy) have introduced legal provisions
under which healthcare workers should declare their patients without
legal status in these countries to the police. In search of medical assistance,
consequently, these patients may be detained in Detention centers and deported
to the countries where their lives may be endangered.
