Assembling and Adjusting the VivoTM / VivoTM lite to your Child This child restraint system is suitable for children who fall into the proper height range as<br />

shown in the chart at left, and whose weight is between 30 and 100 lbs. (13.6 and 45.4 kg). 37 inches - 59 inches (94 cm) (150 cm) Your Vivo / Vivo lite must<br />

be assembled prior to first use.<br />

1 Locate the slots at the rear of the seat cushion to the tabs at the bottom of the seat back. 2 Lay the seat cushion flat with the tabs aligned into the slots of the<br />

seat cushion. 10 3 Rotate the seat cushion up allowing tabs to lock into slots. 4 It requires you to firmly rotate the seat back until the tabs snap into position.<br />

Check for <strong>com</strong>plete assembly by pulling the seat back up from the seat cushion.<br />

11 Head Restraint Adjustment The purpose of the head restraint adjustment is to maximize side impact protection for the child's head and properly position<br />

the vehicle shoulder belt across the child's body. There are 6 adjustment positions to allow the Vivo / Vivo lite to grow with your child. To properly fit the<br />

child, the red 1 vehicle shoulder belt routings must be above the child's shoulder. 2 .AND the child's head must be centered vertically between the top and<br />

bottom of the head restraint.<br />

3 Have your child sit in the Vivo / Vivo lite and check the height of the head restraint. If the head restraint height needs to be adjusted, lift the button at the<br />

rear side of the head restraint and move the head restraint to the proper position. Have your child sit upright in the Vivo / Vivo lite to confirm the head<br />

restraint height is correct. 12 Backrest Recline Adjustment The purpose of the backrest recline adjustment is to help the child restraint system fit flat against<br />

your vehicle's seating surfaces. The backrest has three positions. However, due to great variation in vehicle seating shape and design, this child restraint is<br />

NOT suitable for all vehicle seats. Therefore, you MUST read and understand all of the information in the section, "Learning About Your Vehicle," which<br />

covers the types of vehicle seats that CANNOT be used with this child restraint system. 1 If the backrest recline needs to be adjusted to properly fit your<br />

vehicle seat, follow these steps: 1. While holding the Vivo / Vivo lite seat cushion down, lift the backrest and rotate it to the desired position. The Vivo / Vivo<br />

lite backrest and bottom should fit close to the vehicle seat cushions with no large gaps.<br />

2 2. Release the backrest. You should be able to feel the backrest engage into one of the two positions. Double check by rocking the backrest forward and back<br />

that it is secure in one of the adjustment positions. 13 WARNING! DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY can occur · Do NOT use the child restraint when the child's<br />

shoulders are even with or above the red shoulder belt routing when the head restraint is adjusted to its highest position. · Do NOT use the child restraint<br />

when the child's ear is above the top edge of the head restraint when the head restraint is adjusted to its highest position. · Do NOT use the child restraint<br />

when the child's ear is below the bottom edge of the head restraint when the head restraint is adjusted to its lowest position. · NEVER make adjustments while<br />

the vehicle is in motion or while the child is in the restraint. 14 Section 6: Learning About Your Vehicle It is important to be<strong>com</strong>e familiar with the features of<br />

your vehicle so that your child rides as safely as possible. Read the vehicle owner's <strong>manual</strong> to learn about the safety features and adjustments available for<br />

safe travel.<br />
