Description<br />

<strong>The</strong> optical receiver/transmitter <strong>ORT</strong> <strong>1000</strong> F is specially designed <strong>for</strong> reception <strong>and</strong><br />

amplification of signals at <strong>WKC</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Fiber</strong> <strong>To</strong> <strong>The</strong> <strong>Curb</strong> locations. <strong>The</strong> receiver has one<br />

optical input, the amplifier is provided with two outputs by means of a splitter. <strong>The</strong> nominal<br />

output level is 1x108/2x104 dBµV. Also available is a lower level AUX in/output. <strong>The</strong><br />

integrated automatic gain control regulates on a pilot signal at 80.6 MHz. An optical AGC<br />

also keeps the output level constant with variation in optical input power. <strong>The</strong> desired output<br />

levels are set by means of plug-in modules. All RF in- <strong>and</strong> outputs are provided with test<br />

sockets.<br />

For transmitting return path signals the unit can be equipped with a plug-in laser module. <strong>The</strong><br />

transmitter has two electrical inputs <strong>and</strong> one optical output. <strong>The</strong> laser is a double isolated<br />

DFB, CWDM or DWDM type. Filters <strong>for</strong> 15, 65 <strong>and</strong> 27 MHz are configurable.<br />

An optional plug-in HMS compliant management system provides amongst others the<br />

possibility to control the upstream level.<br />

Housing is made of die-cast aluminium <strong>and</strong> offers protection according to IP52. This type of<br />

housing guarantees optimal heat dissipation <strong>and</strong> perfect protection of the electronic<br />

components.<br />

Ingress-safe output splitter included <strong>for</strong> symmetrical outputs. No additional logistics<br />

are needed. Single output selectable by means of shifting the module one pin to the<br />

right.<br />

<strong>The</strong> plug-in modules (PIM..) <strong>for</strong> attenuation <strong>and</strong> equalization can be changed without<br />

service interruption.<br />

Soft-clipping hybrid, protecting content.<br />

Full balanced pre- <strong>and</strong> return path amplifier, reducing second order products.<br />

Ultra-high efficiency switch mode power supply (> 88%).<br />

Indicator <strong>for</strong> DC <strong>and</strong> AC supply voltages enabling fast diagnosis.<br />

Ceramic capacitors in switch mode power supply secondary site, significantly<br />

improving lifetime, reliability <strong>and</strong> EMI.<br />
