We would risk our whole progress if we tolerated the corruption of counterfeiting activity which threatens
the modern economy: therefore, we have had a long-term National Strategy against Counterfeiting and
an action plan approved by the government, whose success requires social and governmental cooperation.
“Sowing is not as tiring as reaping”, the truth of Goethe’s warning is demonstrated by the fatiguing task to
overcome the external administrative obstacles and the internally imposed limits hindering an effective,
task-oriented official functioning. Nevertheless, a responsible and cost-effective, independent economic
management of the government office, a “learning organisation” constantly developing its knowledge
capital, and effective, results centred requirements and achievements supported, in 2008, the coordination
of science policy and research and development, which obtained independent governmental
representation.
Faster, Higher, Stronger – the motto of the Olympic Year may certainly give guidance for the future of
intellectual property protection, as well: we should support the Hungarian innovation and culture surpassing
ourselves in national excellence, quality and public benefit.
