WILLOW FOUNDATION
The Willow Foundation is a unique charity that organises and funds very special,
morale-boosting and memorable days for seriously ill young adults aged 16-40. The
Foundation provides more than 100 special days every month for individuals and their
loved ones. There is no other national UK charity that provides special day experiences
for the 16-40 age group, across all life-threatening conditions, including cancer, cystic
fibrosis, Huntington’s and muscular dystrophy. The Foundation strives to create a
unique and unforgettable day that is tailored to the needs of every recipient. He or she
chooses exactly what they would like to do on their special day and the Foundation
aims to meet and, wherever possible, exceed their expectations, making the day truly
special. Some of the most popular requests include: trips to West End shows and
concerts, tickets to sporting events, family breaks, driving performance cars and trips
in hot air balloons and helicopters. The Willow Foundation was founded in 1999 by Bob
and Megs Wilson as a lasting memorial to their daughter, Anna, who died of cancer
aged 31. Bob Wilson is the former Arsenal and Scotland goalkeeper and TV presenter.
HILTON IN THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
Supporting young people worldwide is the mission of Hilton in the Community
Foundation. Prioritising those children and young people who are most in need, the
Foundation makes grants to support activities in education and health to equip individuals
and relieve suffering. Additionally, at times of disaster, the Foundation quickly responds
to support relief efforts worldwide, where Hilton operates. As Hilton’s official charity, the
Foundation focuses its giving particularly on charities that deliver excellent programmes
helping disadvantaged children and young people. Hilton funds the core costs of the
Foundation, meaning that every net £1 or e1 donated reaches good causes and excellent
projects helping young people. The Foundation's grant fund is raised every year through
the efforts of Hilton colleagues, guests, suppliers and the general public. The Foundation
has helped hundreds of charities and good causes locally and nationally and through
them has supported a range of projects for young people such as assisting those with
physical or learning disabilities, helping children who have suffered abuse and neglect,
homeless or at risk young people, funding medical equipment and much more.
