Terms and Conditions 

1. All animals will be sold to the highest bidder. The auctioneer will settle all disputes as to bids. 

2. The terms of the sale are cash unless other arrangements are made with the owner of the cattle before the sale. 

3. Individual health papers will be furnished with each lot. 

4. Each animal will be at the purchaser’s risk as soon as sold and can be moved after settlement has been made. For those who wish to insure their 

cattle, insurance will be available. Inform the sale clerk and he will handle it for you. 

5. All animals of breeding age are guaranteed by the owner to be breeders. All untried animals are guaranteed to be without known defects, but 

nothing further. Bulls that are allowed to run with the herd before they are 18 months of age are not guaranteed to be breeders. Animals failing to 

breed after a trial of six months may be returned to the seller at the buyer’s expense, if in as good condition as when sold. The seller reserves the 

right to try said animal for six months and, if it proves to be a breeder, return the same to the station of the buyer at the buyer’s expense. If the 

animal proves a non-breeder, a satisfactory exchange will be made or the purchase price refunded. Under any circumstance, the refund of purchase 

price is considered full settlement. 

6.The sale manager and sale staff act only as sales agents for the consignors of this sale and assume no liability as to accidents to or by the animals 

or to anyone at the sale. They make no guarantees about any animal and the guarantees given above are made by each consignor for his own 

animals selling. The seller is the responsible party for all representations made about his cattle. 

7. All persons who attend the sale do so at their own risk. 

8. Registration papers will be transferred to the buyer at the seller’s expense on all animals born prior to the sale. It is the responsibility of the buyer to 

register all cattle born after the sale. Where an AI certificate is necessary to register a calf born after the sale, it will be the buyer’s responsibility to 

provide the AI certificate. 

9. Announcements from the auction box during the sale will take precedence over statements in this catalog.

Welcome once again to the West Tennessee Polled Hereford Association Sale. This year’s event will be the 

60th annual sale for this great association! It has been my pleasure to work with the wonderful consignors of 

this great event. With the demand at an all time high for Hereford genetics, this offering, I believe, provides the 

progressive cattle breeder with a great opportunity to enhance their genetics to the highest level! Our offering 

includes 10 stout, top quality, ready to go to work, service age bulls and a top set of cows, both fall and spring 

calvers, some of which will be 3-in-1s! A super group of bred heifers, many of which will calve by sale time, bred 

to some of the most popular and progressive herd bulls the breed has to offer. Another great set of open, ready 

to breed heifers will also be in the offering again, sired by some of the top genetics available. Junior exhibitors, 

take special note that I guarantee some of the very top heifers here will absolutely compete on the national level! 

Please know that these lots were selected to be herd “movers” and “improvers” and that you can buy with 

confidence in a quality product from any of these highly reputable breeders. 

We also wish to invite everyone to our pre-sale meeting, social and dinner on Friday evening, March 15, at 6 

p.m. at the Hearth Restaurant in Martin, Tenn. This will be a gathering for consignors, customers and Hereford 

enthusiasts to come together in fellowship. We look forward to seeing everyone on Friday, March 15 and sale day, 

March 16.

Directions to the University Teaching Farm at Martin, Tenn. 

From the East: On the east side of Martin, Hwys. 22 and 431 split. Take Hwy. 22 toward Union City and exit onto 

Hwy. 43, third exit. At the top of the ramp left (south), go to the second road to the left about .5 mile which is Gardner 

Hyndver Road. Go left onto this and proceed east .6 mile to the first road on the right, which is UTM Farm Road. Go 

south about .3 mile and at the split of the road, turn left and proceed to the UTM Agricultural Teaching Center. 

From the South: Entering Martin on Hwy. 45 just outside of town onto Hwy. 43 toward Union City, go on Hwy. 43 until 

the second traffic signal and turn right onto University Street. Proceed .4 mile through a traffic signal and take the 

first left onto Derryberry Lane which changes to UTM Farm Road. This will be just beyond the yard at the end of the 

white fence. Follow this until you reach the UTM Agricultural Teaching Center. 

From the West: Entering Martin on Hwy. 22 onto Hwy. 43, at the top of the ramp, turn right and go .5 mile to the 

second road to the left (Gardner Hyndsver Rd.) and proceed .6 mile east to the first road to the right, UTM Farm Road. 

Go .3 mile south and turn left at the split in the road then proceed to the UTM Agricultural Teaching Center. 

From the North: Entering Martin on Hwy. 45 from Fulton, Ky., take Hwy. 43 to the right. When you cross the Weakley 

County line, you need to be preparing to turn right onto 43. Proceed on Hwy. 43 about 3 miles. After crossing over Hwy. 

22, take the second road to the left, about .33 mile from Hwy. 22. Turn left onto Gardner Hyndsver Road and proceed 

.6 mile to the first road to the right, UTM Farm Road. Turn right and go .3 mile to the split of the road. Turn left and
