Wow – what a year for the foundation! Our 12th superintendent,
Dr. Jamelle Wilson, completed her first year; the Hanover
Education Foundation welcomed three new scholarship
donations; and the HEF presented the first Stewart D. Roberson
Professional Development Scholarship. With the retirement of
Sue Forbes Watson, one of Virginia’s longest serving School Board
members, the HEF is excited to begin the Sue Forbes Watson
Award for Educational Innovation in 2012-13.
The HEF Board also experienced changes as we said good-bye to Bess Littlefield, Joe Cox,
Mike Rosser and our President, Vern Inge. Thank you for six years of service to our students
and teachers.
The Hanover Education Foundation is pleased to announce that more than $300,000 was
raised during 2011-2012 for our students and educators despite the current economic
climate. This Annual Review is a testament to how fortunate the HEF is to have individuals,
community organizations, and business partners with a vision and passion for our students
and staff. And they continue to “answer the call!”
I am pleased to serve the school division as the HEF Executive Director with the support of a
strong and motivated Board of Directors. Thanks for a great year!
