Sue Forbes Watson Award for Educational Innovation<br />

The <strong>Hanover</strong> Education Foundation honored Sue Forbes Watson with a reception on June 14, 2012,<br />

at Randolph-Macon College, in recognition of her 36 years of service as the Ashland Representative on the<br />

<strong>Hanover</strong> <strong>County</strong> School Board. A former English teacher, Mrs. Watson has been an effective and tireless<br />

advocate for quality education for all <strong>Hanover</strong> children. Mrs. Watson has also given twenty-three years of<br />

service as an Advisor to the Foundation.<br />

<strong>We</strong> are proud to celebrate both her dedication to education and the<br />

<strong>Hanover</strong> <strong>County</strong> school system that she has so ably served. The award named<br />

in her honor will be a lasting tribute to her service and will enable <strong>Hanover</strong><br />

students and educators to be supported, encouraged, and recognized for<br />

excellence in education.<br />

Education in <strong>Hanover</strong> <strong>County</strong>,<br />

Virginia 1778-2008 authored by<br />

school retirees Becky Bray and Dr.<br />

Lloyd Jones.<br />

Proceeds from the sale of<br />

this book, which chronicles the<br />

foundation and growth of <strong>Hanover</strong><br />

<strong>County</strong> <strong>Public</strong> <strong>Schools</strong>, helps to<br />

support professional development<br />

scholarships for teachers and creative<br />

classroom grants. To receive<br />
