<strong>Hanover</strong> <strong>Education</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> <strong>Hosts</strong> 7 th <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Bowl</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Education</strong><br />

On Saturday, January 23, fifty-two teams representing every <strong>Hanover</strong> school, the <strong>Hanover</strong><br />

County School Board, <strong>Hanover</strong> County Fire & EMS, several local businesses, the central office, and the<br />

<strong>Hanover</strong> <strong>Education</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> (HEF) gathered at the AMF <strong>Hanover</strong> Lanes on Bell Creek Road to “<strong>Bowl</strong><br />

<strong>for</strong> <strong>Education</strong>.” The HEF raised $13,634 to support grants and scholarships <strong>for</strong> <strong>Hanover</strong> County<br />

students and teachers.<br />

The first place trophy went to the team from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School, The <strong>Hanover</strong> Hawks<br />

(George Sadler, Bobby Stratton, Stephanie Shea, Leslie Stargardt). The second place trophies went to<br />

the Atlee Rolling Raiders from Atlee High School (Ryan Brugger, Logan Smith, Eric Leise, Scott Csoke).<br />

The third place trophy went to Rural Point Elementary School, The Rural Point Rollers (Rueben<br />

Albright, Jonice Albright, Chip Tuck, Jason Byrd). Scott Csoke, from Altee High School, received the<br />

trophy <strong>for</strong> highest score in a game <strong>for</strong> a male, and Cheryl Lane from Stonewall Jackson Middle School<br />

received the trophy <strong>for</strong> highest score in a game <strong>for</strong> a female.<br />

According to Margaret Hill, Executive Director of the HEF, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the<br />

event. “Thanks to all of the business support we received this year this was the largest tournament<br />

we have had,” said Ms. Hill. “It’s always great to see folks having a good time at an event that<br />

benefits our students,” she said.<br />
