Our June 9th & 10th show was excellent. We
had 57 horses, 374 entries, and so many new
folks I didn't even try to keep count. We finally
caught a break in the weather and had a mild,
mostly sunny weekend. Storms moved in as we
were finishing up on Sunday late afternoon but
everyone made it home safely.
On Friday evening Gayle brought her gas
grill and cooked hot dogs and cheddarwurst for
those folks in the barn who wanted to grab a bite
to eat and relax for a bit. Thanks to everyone
who brought canned soda, bottled water, ice,
cake, brownies, chips, dip, sauerkraut, potato
salad, buns, and condiments. We had a barrel
full of iced-down soda and water that lasted
throughout the weekend. It was sure nice to
have that handy in the barn.
There were some special guests in the
barn for most of the weekend. The Budweiser
Clydesdales were laying over en route to area
appearances. Visitors who came to see them
also visited with some of our exhibitors and
watched part of our show.
People shopping for bargains in show
clothing, tack and "stuff" had lots to choose from.
There were racks and tables set up at stalls and
in the aisles.
Thanks to Kristi, Shelly, Tina and others
who collected the goodies which were given out
randomly throughout the show and the prizes for
the weekend awards. Those will be mailed to the
winners.
Thanks to Carol Hunt, who jumped in to
ring steward; Steve & Stephanie Butler and Gayle
in the show office; and to Steve, Tim Scott, Jeff
Ulmer, and Jeff's folks for their special efforts
during our "adventure" following the show on
Sunday evening. If you were there, you know
what I'm talkin' about! Too bad they wouldn't
allow photos to be taken.

were light but there are a few:
