White County<br />

Packets <strong>of</strong> information were given to the Small Business Council in Searcy to<br />

distribute for worksite wellness. The packets included the following information:<br />

Act 13 Poster; Call It Quits Poster; Children Hand Washing Poster; Adult Hand<br />

Washing Poster; Employee Hand Washing Procedure; Cover Your Cough Poster;<br />

A Guide to Worksite Wellness; Portion Placemat; How to read Nutrition Facts on<br />

food label card; Eat Right! Brochure; White Co. LHU brochure on services;<br />

websites with locations <strong>of</strong> all these materials plus the site for seasonal flu and<br />

Novel H1N1 Influenza Type A information. H1N1 and Season Flu presentations<br />

were made to the Society <strong>of</strong> Safety Engineers and the Harding University Child<br />

Development Class. A HIV Latino Campaign was held for the community by ADH.<br />

Jackie Gorton presented a grant writing class at Harding <strong>of</strong>fered by the Coalition.<br />

“Walk Across <strong>Arkansas</strong>” has begun in the county.<br />

A booth was set up at the county fair. Presentation was made to students at<br />

Pangburn on nutritious snacks and other healthy choices. Plans are being made<br />

for the Body Walk to come to Sidney Deener Elementary.<br />

Influenza Update presentations were made at various locations in the county.<br />

Woodruff County<br />

Handwashing and tobacco presentations are being conducted at McCrory<br />

Elementary. A flu presentation was held for a senior citizen’s group in Patterson.<br />

Brochures, tip sheets and hand sanitizer were distributed to the group.<br />

CHPS/CHNS<br />

Mark Oliver<br />

• Directed trail work crew developing fitness trails in Cabot<br />

• Conducted BMI screening at McRae Elementary in Searcy<br />

• Participated in various flu activities: Presentation at co-op staff meeting;<br />

participated in regional planning<br />

• Participated in teleconference planning Blue and You youth fitness challenge<br />

project<br />

• Participated in Safe Routes to School CIV workshop.<br />

• Participated in ADH grant-writing workshop.<br />

• Provided employee wellness guides and suggestions to ASUB wellness<br />

coordinator<br />

• Participated in the Governor’s Council on Fitness Great <strong>Arkansas</strong> Workout<br />

• Participated in planning school flu clinics and working in Augusta, Cotton<br />

Plant, Batesville, Sulphur Rock, McRae, Beebe, & Searcy<br />

Laura Cook<br />

• Participated in School <strong>Health</strong> Index break-out session<br />

• Met with CSH Coordinator from Newport School District; discussed ideas for<br />

tobacco presentations for the students and resources for education on<br />

tobacco prevention<br />

• Participated in various flu activities including delivering forms to schools,<br />

providing updates and technical assistance to administrators and school<br />

nurses; attending regional flu planning meetings and statewide video<br />

conferences; school flu planning meetings with school nurses (Valley View,<br />

Poinsett County, Westside, Brookland, Riverside, Weiner, BIC, and Jackson
