9. Q. How long is my MH or CM manufacturer, dealer, or salesperson temporary permit (TP) or<br />

license good for?<br />

A1. A TP may be issued while HCD completes its investigation <strong>of</strong> an applicant. A TP may be<br />

issued for a period not to exceed 120 days allowing the applicant to operate as a licensee. HCD<br />

may issue more than one TP if HCD deems additional time is necessary on a case-by-case basis.<br />

A2. The length <strong>of</strong> time that a license is valid is 24 months from the date <strong>of</strong> issuance <strong>of</strong> an initial TP<br />

or a license if no TP was initially granted.<br />

10. Q. How will I know when to renew my license? What if I don’t receive my renewal notice?<br />

How much are renewal fees?<br />

A1. Every license issued to a MH/CM manufacturer, dealer, or salesperson is good for 24 months<br />

from the date <strong>of</strong> issuance <strong>of</strong> either a temporary permit or the license if a temporary permit was not<br />

issued.<br />

A2. License renewals must be received or postmarked to HCD no later than the month <strong>of</strong><br />

expiration. Licensees are responsible for renewing their license on time to avoid automatic<br />

cancellation <strong>of</strong> the license. Expired licenses may be reinstated within 60 calendar days <strong>of</strong> the<br />

expiration date <strong>and</strong> pay their renewal fee plus a penalty fee equal to 50% <strong>of</strong> the renewal fee.<br />

A3. Renewal notices issued by HCD are courtesy notices. The licensee is responsible for<br />

renewing their license on time. If you do not receive a renewal notice, contact the OL Program by<br />

telephone at (916) 323-9803 or by e-mail at OL@hcd.ca.gov to request assistance <strong>and</strong> renewal<br />

forms. For MH dealers <strong>and</strong> salespersons, a completed “Certification <strong>of</strong> Clock Hours Earning” form<br />

HCD OL 137 must accompany your renewal application. The form HCD OL 137 is available online<br />

A4. Renewal fees for each established place <strong>of</strong> business or salesperson are: Manufacturer =<br />

$1,000; Dealer = $810; Salesperson = $150.<br />

Note 1: If your license expired it may be reinstated upon application for reinstatement to HCD within<br />

60 calendar days <strong>of</strong> expiration. However, a reinstatement fee will be required equal to 50 percent<br />

<strong>of</strong> the renewal fee. After 60 days from the expiration date a new license must be obtained.<br />
