A Transportation Plan for the Greenleaf Terrace Neighborhood

Vision, Goals and Objectives
Vision Statement
Greenleaf Terrace is a safe, vibrant residential neighborhood with a variety of
transportation modes available to its residents. Traffic calming measures ensure that
vehicular traffic traveling through the neighborhood maintains a safe speed and excessive
through-traffic is discouraged from utilizing local streets within the neighborhood.
Bicycle and pedestrian-oriented improvements allow safe movement of cyclists and
walkers throughout the neighborhood. Public transit stops are clearly marked and
provide a friendly atmosphere for waiting riders. Bicycle, pedestrian and public
transportation are linked to allow for easy multi-modal travel.
Goals and Objectives
Goal 1: Pedestrian safety is ensured throughout Greenleaf Terrace.
• Objective 1.1: Create a more complete neighborhood sidewalk network
• Objective 1.2: Install crosswalks at locations of high vehicle/pedestrian
interaction
• Objective 1.3: Install curb bulb-outs in conjunction with crosswalks
• Objective 1.4: Add pedestrian signals at Rugby Ave/Rose Hill Drive intersection
• Objective 1.5: Create park gateway to increase entrance visibility and enhance
pedestrian safety
Goal 2: Greenleaf Terrace provides a safe and friendly atmosphere for
cycling
• Objective 2.1: Incorporate previous plan recommendations of bike lanes on
Rugby Avenue
• Objective 2.2: Extend bike lanes on Rose Hill Drive north to Crow Recreation
Center
• Objective 2.3: Install bike route signs on Oxford Road, Del Mar Drive and Gentry
Lane (from Del Mar to Rugby Road)
• Objective 2.4: Provide bicycle racks within Greenleaf Park
