Health Scrutiny J oint Committ ee – 11 J uly 2013 6(a) - Impact on Social Care Teams and Ambulatory Care - Any proposals for additional elective and rehabilitation services at Hartlepool hospital - Clinical quality, safety and financial pressures - Impact at North Tees site - Transport links (patients and visitors) - Plans / space audit of Hartlepool and North Tees hospital sites - How will the proposals affect staff at Hartlepool and North Tees Hospitals in relation to:- (i) staffing ratios (ii) transport - Interim response rates of public questionnaire (by area) - The development of services at Hartlepool hospital in the period leading up to the opening of the new hospital 2.12 Hartlepool’s Audit and Governance Committee expressed views on the proposals at a meeting held on 31 May 2013. These views are attached as Appendix C for consideration by the Joint Committee when formulating its consultation response. The views of Durham’s Adults, Wellbeing and Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee and Stockton’s Adult Services and Health Select Committee will be considered by the Committee when formulated. 2.13 The Committee, when formulating its response, should consider the full context within which local health services are operating, including any clinical quality, safety or financial pressures. 3. RECOMMENDATIONS 3.1 The Joint Committee is recommended to:- (a) Consider the questions outlined in section 2.9 of this report in light of the proposed reconfiguration and formulate views to be included within the consultation response; (b) (c) Consider the clinical quality, safety and financial pressures of the proposed reconfiguration; and Consider the views expressed by Members of Durham’s Adults, Wellbeing and Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee, Hartlepool’s Audit and Governance Committee and Stockton’s Adult Services and Health Select Committee and when formulating its consultation response 4. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS 4.1 To facilitate in the formulation of a consultation response for submission to the Hartlepool and Stockton-on-Tees Clinical Commissioning Group by 11 August 2013. 4 HARTLEPOOL BOROUGH COUNCIL
