- The development of services at <strong>Hartlepool</strong> hospital in the period leading<br />
up to the opening of the new hospital<br />
2.12 <strong>Hartlepool</strong>’s Audit and Governance <strong>Committee</strong> expressed views on the<br />
proposals at a meeting held on 31 May 2013. These views are attached as<br />
Appendix C for consideration by the <strong>Joint</strong> <strong>Committee</strong> when formulating its<br />
consultation response. The views of Durham’s Adults, Wellbeing and <strong>Health</strong><br />
Overview and <strong>Scrutiny</strong> <strong>Committee</strong> and Stockton’s Adult Services and <strong>Health</strong><br />
Select <strong>Committee</strong> will be considered by the <strong>Committee</strong> when formulated.<br />
2.13 The <strong>Committee</strong>, when formulating its response, should consider the full context<br />
within which local health services are operating, including any clinical quality,<br />
safety or financial pressures.<br />
3. RECOMMENDATIONS<br />
3.1 The <strong>Joint</strong> <strong>Committee</strong> is recommended to:-<br />
(a) Consider the questions outlined in section 2.9 of this report in light of the<br />
proposed reconfiguration and formulate views to be included within the<br />
consultation response;<br />

Consider the clinical quality, safety and financial pressures of the<br />
proposed reconfiguration; and<br />
Consider the views expressed by Members of Durham’s Adults, Wellbeing<br />
and <strong>Health</strong> Overview and <strong>Scrutiny</strong> <strong>Committee</strong>, <strong>Hartlepool</strong>’s Audit and<br />
Governance <strong>Committee</strong> and Stockton’s Adult Services and <strong>Health</strong> Select<br />
<strong>Committee</strong> and when formulating its consultation response<br />
4. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS<br />
4.1 To facilitate in the formulation of a consultation response for submission to the<br />
<strong>Hartlepool</strong> and Stockton-on-Tees Clinical Commissioning Group by 11 August<br />
2013.<br />
