<strong>in</strong>cision <strong>in</strong> the belly but<strong>to</strong>n where <strong>in</strong>struments are placed and the diseased,<br />

<strong>in</strong>flamed gallbladder is removed. Most people who require gallbladder removal are<br />

candidates for the robotic, s<strong>in</strong>gle-<strong>in</strong>cision surgery.<br />

Accord<strong>in</strong>g <strong>to</strong> the American College of Surgeons, surgery is the recommended<br />

treatment for gallbladder pa<strong>in</strong> from galls<strong>to</strong>nes and non-function<strong>in</strong>g gallbladders.<br />

More than 1 million people <strong>in</strong> the U.S. have their gallbladder removed each year.<br />
