Oh no! someone has stolen the colors from the city of Spectropolis…and we need
your help to restore color to the city! In the Great Color Caper, your students
will help solve the mystery of the missing colors as they learn about the nature of light and
how colors are derived from light and pigments, sight and perception. Join local scientists
from Harley-Davidson and PPG industries in this interactive multimedia demonstration on
the scientific principles behind color and light.

The Great Color Caper is a fun and interactive presentation about
the science of color – the physics of light, chemistry of pigments,
and psychology of optical illusions.
The comic-book styled program uses
interactive multimedia to transform students
into Color Cadets and teach them about
light, energy, reflection and color while they
help solve a mystery. The Color Cadets are
guided through experiments in their attempt
to save the city of Spectropolis from a
villain plotting to rob the city of all its color.
Real PPG Scientists appear on screen
throughout the program with helpful clues.
Every day, scientists use color technology
to decorate and protect, which keeps
people and the environment safe. Real
world examples of color technology such
as lasers, automotive coatings, transition
lenses and acid-base color indicators
improve quality of life, enhance consumer
safety, and preserve the environment.
