First Impressions:Second Thoughts
HPS (West Yorkshire) are delighted to invite you to our one-day Conference
to be held on Saturday, 11 th May, 2013 at the Civic Hall, Pudsey, West Yorkshire,
LS28 5TA
Our speakers for the day will be:
• Heather Russell
Heather is a well-known and enthusiastic member of HPS from Northumberland who is renowned
for her interesting and enthusiastic presentations. Heather spoke at our last conference and, due
to popular demand has agreed to return!
• Bob Sanderson
Bob is well-known to Hardy Planters as a very knowledgeable plantsman and experienced
speaker. He is sometimes referred to as Mr Cath from Cath’s Garden Plants!
• Bob Brown
Bob is the proprietor of Cotswold Garden Flowers and is a regular contributor to the HPS journal.
As such, he is well-known as a very forthright speaker and we have a suspicion that the topic of
this year’s conference will be right up his street!
• Ursula Buchan
Ursula is an award-winning garden writer and lecturer. She was a regular garden writer for The
Daily Telegraph and The Garden magazine as well as publishing several books. She has now
given up writing to concentrate on lecturing and teaching.

Plant Sales: Plants will be available for sale on the day from a number of nurseries including Cath’s
Garden Plants, Cotswold Garden Flowers, Ridgefield Nursery and Dove Cottage Nursery(TBC).
Parking: Ample free car parking is available at the Civic Centre
Accommodation: Information on overnight accommodation local to the Civic Centre is available at
http://www.visitleeds.co.uk/
Booking your ticket: Tickets for the conference will be £20 per person inclusive of morning and
afternoon beverages. Unfortunately we are unable to offer any concessions.
