Visiting Verden for the first time: Minister
of Agriculture Christian Meyer
in a conversation with the managing
director of the State Stud Celle, Dr.
Axel Brockman.
the support of the Hanoverian Association Promoting
Hanoverian Horses FRH.
The price structure did not truly reflect the outstanding
quality of the horses. For instance Sunciro by
Sunlight xx/Velten Third (breeder: Wilhelm Stadtlander,
Lilienthal; exhibitor: Ann-Kathrin Stadtlander,
Niefern-Oeschelbronn) who is an licensed and
performance tested half-bred sire with a show record
is a half-brother to licensed Callaho’s Benicio
who is the Bundeschampion of six-year old dressage
horses in 2011. The blood-influenced horse is
still developing. Clients from Spain recognized his
potential and were delighted that they were able
to buy this talent for 20,000.00 Euros. Sunciro will
also remain in Verden to further his training – a
true testament of trust in the work of the AAZ from
new customers from Spain. Higher prices were
also obtained, though. 14 out 50 Hanoverian riding
horses sold within the price segment of
25,000 Euros and above. The dressage mare ‘Sie
ist schön U’ and jumper mare Valencia sold for
42,000 Euros each. The elegant and beautiful
black four-year old dressage prospect by Sir Donnerhall/Metternich
(breeder/exhibitor: Jürgen Uhlenwinkel,
Grethem) found a new home in the
dressage stables of Jörg Schrödter in Leipheim in
Bavaria. ‘Sie ist schön U’ proved her qualities in
movement and rideability by obtaining placements
in riding horse classes as well as with her performance
in the mare test where she received a 9,0
for her walk and a 9,0 as the guestrider score. She
received an 8,0 for her trot, canter and rideability.
Valencia is moving even further south. The twotime
Ia-premium recipient by Valentino/Captain
Paul (breeder/exhibitor: Heinrich Mues, Stolzenau-
Nendorf) found a new owner amidst our new customers
from Spain.
Spain tops the export leader board of the 128 th Elite
Auction with seven purchases. A total of 22
participants sold to foreign customers. Four horses
will eat their oats in Finland. Quite a cheerful
group bought these horses. They took every
Fritz:
A dressage vision!
An elite auction is always opened by one of
the collections best participants! 2013 it
was Fritz. The elegant chestnut stallion by
Farewell III out of Loraine by Londonderry
stimulated the interest of prospective buyers
as well as the entire auction team during the
two-week long training’s period. The ambitious
five-year old dressage talent always
gave his best in a calm and composed style.
Auction rider Sascha Böhmke commented on
the joint training period, “Fritz blossomed in
the dressage ring. He attentively awaited the
aids of the rider and accepted them with
sensitivity. You also could not wish for a better
partner when handling him on the
ground. He loved to cuddle.”
Fritz was born on the farm of Annegreth
Winkelmann in Uplengen in 2008. “He was
very confident and attentive as a foal. He reacted
to anything new with curiosity and
trust,” the keen horsewoman who has been
dedicated to the Hanoverian breed since
1973 tells. Currently there are eight broodmares
on her farm. Fritz’ dam Loraine has
delivered a total of three foals. Fritz has two
half-sisters – a three- and a four-year old.
Both are sired by premium stallion Fiorano
and are still owned by Annegreth Winkelmann.
“Unfortunately I sold Loraine last year
but may get the chance to buy her back. She
has produced exceptional offspring.” Annegreth
Winkelmann already bred granddam
Dunja. This daughter of Dream of Glory/Trajan
also produced St. Pr. mare Princess Piccolina
by Prince Thatch xx who was awarded a
Ia-prize at the breed show in Aurich-Tannenhausen
in 2007 where she also became class
champion. After Prince Thatch xx the breeder
selected Celle’s state stud sire, approval
champion and gigantic producer Londonderry
for her mare Dunja. Loraine was born in
2004. Wunschtraum by Wiesenbaum xx who
is victorious at S-level dressage competitions
with rider Karen Schulze-Bergmann heads
on the damline of Nordenburg at the competitive
level. The chestnut has always been
special for Annegreth Winkelmann, “I was
moved to tears when I watched Fritz trot
around the indoor arena in a relaxed fashion
on Friday night during the gala evening.”
The powerfully moving Fritz showed his potential
as a youngster. Fritz made his public
debut at only a few months of age at the
German Foal Championships in Lienen where
Henrik Klatte from Lastrup saw the promising
chestnut. He seized the opportunity and
bought the colt from Annegreth Winkelmann.
After all sire Farewell III lives in
Lastrup with Henrik Klatte. Fritz grew up in
the colt fields in Lastrup and was scheduled
to be presented at the stallion approval in
Verden as well as in Redefin. The dressage
aspirant Fritz could not be presented in Verden
due to an injury. He was licensed and
was awarded a premium at the inspection
site in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Fritz completed
the 30-day test at the stallion testing
station in Neustadt/Dosse with a dressage
score of 8,01. The athlete continued to master
additional competitions with his excelling
talent. He was presented in riding horse classes
and dressage tests at the A level seven
times and always finished in the ribbons.
Fritz finished the final at Verden’s Riding
Horse Championships last year in fifth place
with rider Hermann Burger.
Fritz is looking forward to a successful sport
horse career. Even though his new owner is
from Switzerland the five-year old Fritz will
remain in Lower Saxony with Anna-Sophie
Fiebelkorn.
