2007 TOWN WARRANT<br />

To the Inhabitants <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Hampton</strong>, in the County <strong>of</strong> Rockingham, and State <strong>of</strong> New<br />

Hampshire, qualified to vote in <strong>Town</strong> affairs:<br />

You are hereby notified to meet at eight-thirty o’clock in the forenoon in the auditorium <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Winnacunnet High School on Saturday, February 3, 2007, for the first session <strong>of</strong> the Annual <strong>Town</strong><br />

Meeting for the transaction <strong>of</strong> all business other than voting by <strong>of</strong>ficial ballot.<br />

In accordance with the action on Article 14 in the 1996 <strong>Town</strong> Warrant (pursuant to RSA<br />

40:13) the second session <strong>of</strong> the Annual Meeting to elect <strong>of</strong>ficers by <strong>of</strong>ficial ballot, to vote on<br />

questions required by law to be inserted on said <strong>of</strong>ficial ballot, shall be held on Tuesday, March 13,<br />

2007 at seven o’clock in the forenoon at the Marston School, Marston Way. The polls will not close<br />

before eight o’clock in the evening.<br />

ARTICLE 1<br />

To choose by non-partisan ballot: One (1) Selectman for Three Years; One (1) Supervisor <strong>of</strong><br />

the Checklist for Three Years; One (1) Trustee <strong>of</strong> the Trust Funds for Three Years; One (1) <strong>Library</strong><br />

Trustee for Three Years; One (1) Cemetery Trustee for Three Years; Two (2) Planning Board<br />

Members for Three Years; Four (4) Municipal Budget Committee Members for Three Years; One (1)<br />

Zoning Board <strong>of</strong> Adjustment Member for Three Years; One (1) <strong>Town</strong> Clerk for Three Years.<br />

ARTICLE 2<br />

Are you in favor <strong>of</strong> the adoption <strong>of</strong> Amendment No. 1 as proposed by the Planning Board as<br />

follows: Amend the Zoning Ordinance, 1) ARTICLE I – GENERAL, Section 1.6 Definitions to<br />

revise the definition <strong>of</strong> hotel to provide a more explicit and precise definition <strong>of</strong> a “hotel” so that<br />

hotel units (intended for transient use) may be better distinguished from dwelling units<br />

(intended for permanent residence) and 2) ARTICLE VI PARKING, Section 6.3.2 by adding a<br />

new requirement for hotels/motels which will be based on sleeping room size as follows:<br />

1) Section 1.6 Definitions<br />

Hotel: A facility <strong>of</strong>fering transient lodging accommodations on a daily rate to the general public and<br />

which may provide additional services such as a restaurant, meeting rooms, and recreational facilities<br />

for its guests. (Adopted 1991) The following standards are established for the development <strong>of</strong> hotels:<br />

a) Use <strong>of</strong> hotel rooms as permanent residences is prohibited.<br />

b) Hotel rooms equipped with a refrigerator up to five cubic feet in size, a microwave, a c<strong>of</strong>fee<br />

maker and a second sink are exempt from an impact fee assessment. All hotel rooms with a<br />

kitchen will be assessed the multi family impact fee.<br />

c) Each hotel shall have an <strong>of</strong>fice for the purpose <strong>of</strong> operations, including but not limited to<br />

maintenance, unit rental and general management. This required <strong>of</strong>fice must be located in<br />

<strong>Hampton</strong>. Each hotel must have a 24 hour emergency number.<br />

Condominium Hotel: A building constructed, maintained and operated and managed as a hotel<br />

in which each room is individually owned and in which some or all <strong>of</strong> the rooms are available for<br />
