FIRE INSPECTIONS AND FIRE DRILLS
FIRE INSPECTIONS:
• We are not permitted to have any objects hanging from ceilings.
This includes student work that may be displayed on “clotheslines.”
• Nothing can be left in the hallways. This includes desks, chairs,
tables, or other objects.
• Electrical appliances are not allowed. This includes microwaves,
coffee pots, and refrigerators. Instructional items (i.e. televisions
and computers) are permitted.
• Extension cords are not allowed. However, surge protectors are
permitted.
• There can not be any paper items on or around the classroom door.
FIRE DRILLS:
• Please check your classrooms for fire safety information. There
should be a sign listing the closest exit in the event of a fire. If there
is no sign, please notify the office immediately.
• During a fire drill, please exit the building with your class according
to the instructions posted above your door.
• Be sure to review appropriate safety procedures and your behavioral
expectations for your class during a fire drill.
• Take your attendance roster with you so that you can make sure all
your students are present.
• Instruct the children to find the closest adult if they are anywhere
besides their classroom during a fire drill. That adult will make sure
they are safe until they can join their class.
