BOARD OF EDUCATION – REGULAR MEETING – JUNE 20, 2011 BID AWARDS: A Motion was made by Mr. Geringswald, seconded by Mr. Marcucci, and carried unanimously (6-0) to approve the following Bid Awards: 1. BID #11-11: Custodial Supplies – 2011/12 School Year 2. BID #11-17: Automotive/Grounds Equipment Parts & Vehicle Repair Service 3. BID #11-19: Interscholastic Athletic Supplies – Fall Sports 4. BID #11-20: Bagels – 2011/2012 School Year 5. BID #11-21: Miscellaneous Food Supplies AMERICAN RED CROSS AGREEMENT: BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education authorizes the Board President to execute the agreement with the American Red Cross, as reviewed and approved in previous years by District’s Counsel, James Pyun, of Frazer and Feldman. A Motion was made by Mrs. Catapano, seconded by Mr. Marcucci, and carried unanimously (6-0) to approve the above Resolution. DONATIONS: SMART BOARD FOR OTSEGO BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education moves to accept the generous donation of a SMART Board from the Otsego PTA. A Motion was made by Mrs. Bottenus, seconded by Mr. Marcucci, and carried unanimously (6-0) to approve the above Resolution. POLICY CHANGES SECOND READING: According to the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Statement No. 54, all school districts are required to develop a fund balance policy and re-class existing fund balance into newly named categories for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2011. This policy is being presented for a “Second Reading”. The “First Reading” was on June 6, 2011. ‣ Fund Balance Reporting Policy – New Policy The following School Lunch policies are being presented for a “Second Reading”. These policies reflect changes as recommended by our internal auditors, R.S. Abrams & Co., LLP. The “First Reading” was on June 6, 2011. ‣ Free and Reduced Price Food Services – Policy No. 8540 (last approved November 28, 1994) ‣ Policy for Charging School Meals – New Policy A Motion was made by Mr. Marcucci, seconded by Mrs. Bottenus, and carried unanimously (6-0) to approve the above Resolution. 14

BOARD OF EDUCATION – REGULAR MEETING – JUNE 20, 2011 SCHOOL MEAL PRICES: BE IT RESOLVED that the elementary and secondary lunch prices be increased by $.50. Beginning with the 2011-12 school year the new cost for school lunches will be $2.25 for elementary schools and $2.50 for secondary schools. BE IT RESOLVED that the elementary and secondary breakfast prices be increased by $.25. Beginning with the 2011-12 school year the new cost for school breakfasts will be $1.25 for elementary schools and $1.60 for secondary schools. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the practice of waiving the $.25 charge for reduced meals be discontinued beginning with the 2011-2012 school year. A Motion was made by Mr. Geringswald, seconded by Mrs. Catapano, and carried unanimously (6-0) to approve the above Resolution. DISPOSITION OF SURPLUS AND OBSOLETE EQUIPMENT: COMPUTERS BE IT RESOLVED upon the recommendation of Corinne Carriero, Director of Instructional Technology, that the Apple desktops and laptop computers listed on the attached memo are non-functioning and due to their age cannot be repaired. This equipment should be declared obsolete and be disposed of in a manner that is in the best interest of the Half Hollow Hills Central School District. A Motion was made by Mrs. Bottenus, seconded by Mrs. Catapano, and carried unanimously (6-0) to approve the above Resolution. CC PRODUCTIONS, INC. SERVICE CONTRACT: BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Half Hollow Hills Central School District approves the service contract between CC Productions, Inc. and the Half Hollow Hills Central School District at a fee of $13,758 per year effective July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012. A Motion was made by Mr. Geringswald, seconded by Mrs. Bottenus, and carried unanimously (6-0) to approve the above Resolution. 15
