DIAPOINT Single diamond wheel dresser
for all machines with a suitable mounting
Selection tip: we recommend that the graphic below is consulted for the selection of the correct diamond
weight for single diamond dressing tools in respect of the grinding wheel to be dressed.
Application hints DIAPOINT:
Application: for all ceramic grinding wheels
Chucking: angle of the dressing tool to the middle of the grinding wheel between 5° and 15°
feed: 0.01-0.03 mm/passage
Lateral feed: on average 0.05-0.15 mm/U
Cooling: a large degree of cooling is required
N.B.: if the sharpness decreases, revolve the dressing tool approx. 60° about its own axis. In good time,
the blunt surface should be no greater than approx. 0.5 mm².
Holders for the manual dressing of sanding disks, e. g. on floor stand grinders without dressing equipment,
or for the dressing of sanding disks on grinding attachments for lathes see No. 61220 page 1165.

Tetraboric wheel dresser
Application: for dressing blunted sanding disks up to Ø 300 mm, e.g. from grain size 46 or finer, up to
degree of hardness M.
Execution: the dressing tool is made from pure boron carbide, the hardest material after diamond and
boron nitride. The abrasive grain is not dislodged, but smoothly cut through as a result of the superior hardness
of the boron carbide. Due to its convenient shape cleanly cut, even grinding surfaces are achieved.
Simple sections can also be attached.
Operation: only dress with the edges, not with the whole surface. To achieve uniform grinding turn the
dressing tool several times. By constantly altering the angle of contact new edges are formed and localised
heating avoided, which damages and dislodges the grain. In order to prevent the edges of the dressing tool
from splintering, it needs to be operated in a flexible manner and must not be laid on its coated surface.

Galvanic bond
An additional chromium layer prevents the abrasive diamond grain from prematurely working loose; can be
used for reworking items in the tool construction and mechanical engineering industry. Galvanic-bonded
diamond files have a particularly firm grip and are distinguished by their relatively long life.
Application tips:
Work pieces: cutting, punching and drawing tool components, such as blanking punches and die plates, as
well as moulds and machine components.
Material: hardened steel, carbide and other hard material.
Recommended use:
Fine grain size D 76 / D 91: for finishing

The oxide-ceramic precision grinding tools consists of mixed crystal of extraordinary hardness, the main component of which is aluminium oxide.
Chrome oxide additives give the typically red colouration. In nature, this crystal appears as ruby. The precision grinding tools have no bonding agent and because
of the great hardness of the sintered crystals have a high resistance to wear and change in shape. These properties are particularly important for precision work
to achieve an excellent surface finish and accuracy of shape. The low wear also has economic advantages. When machining using precision grinding tools, not
only is metal removed from the surface of the work piece but if the finest types are used it can also be hardened and polished by pressure.
They are the ideal hand tools for all grinding, deburring and precision grinding work, particularly also for resharpening tools of all kinds. They are suitable for
making chamfers on cutting tools, notching profiles, working shaped parts of hardened steel and also working other hard or abrasive materials such as quartz,
glass, ceramics.
The work can be carried out with the tools either wet or dry. Dampening with petroleum or cutting oil is sufficient. Cleaning is by wiping with a grease-free agent.
When dry working, the tool is cleaned using an abrasive rubber.

The process of visual grinding is based on the physical phenomena that perforated surfaces
(in this case the sanding disc) become transparent at high rotational speeds.

In previous years, the economical properties of honing have secured the process a large space in the field of fine machining. Honing is still used today throughout
the metallurgical industry. Honing is primarily carried out in cylindrical holes, particularly in series and one-off production where high specifications are set for
dimensions, geometry and surface quality. Honing tools can be used on virtually any material.
In addition to dimensional accuracy, geometric precision and surface quality must be considered as critical for close tolerance holes. Manual honing tools on
lathes and drilling machines can be used for small quantities. However, it is more economical to use honing machines and honing tools with hydraulic sizing tools
for larger quantities.

The Hone tools have a universal application as a result of an ingenious technical principle. Small abrasive bearings permanently attached to the ends of strong
nylon brushes form the basis of the flexible efficiency.
They have no stones that can shatter and eliminates the need for time-consuming adjustments to the diameter. They are a special tool that can be integrated
