Gundersen Lutheran
Visitors
Each day, Gundersen
Lutheran’s website (gundluth.
org) is visited an average of 5,000
times. Every one of those visits
is an opportunity for Gundersen
Lutheran to connect with
potential patients, employees,
referring providers, and people
around the nation and world
interested in our world-class care
and programming. At the end of
October, the launch of a newly
designed Gundersen Lutheran
website offered these visitors a
brand new experience. Some of
the enhanced features include:
• New navigation capabilities.
• Achievements and announcements
on the home page.
• Ability to send E-greetings to a
loved one in the hospital.
• Ability for patients to register
and pay for classes online.
• A resource section for clinicians.
• Ability to post video and audio
clips.
The Foundation section of the
site is also updated with a fresh
new look and exciting features.
If you haven’t visited yet, check
it out! Our goal is to make our
virtual space as welcoming
and visitor-friendly as our new
Foundation offices, which you
can read about to the right.
Tanke Honored as Mrs. Oktoberfest
La Crosse’s annual Oktoberfest
celebration included recognition
for the Foundation’s own Robyn
Tanke, CFRE, Senior Director of
Development, who was selected as
Mrs. Oktoberfest 2008. A lifelong
resident of the area and a dedicated

donors whose cumulative gifts total $200 or more in calendar year
2008. An evening of friendship and fun is guaranteed!
New Space Brings Foundation Home
“We’re very happy to be here,”
says David Amborn, CFRE, Senior
Director of Development, referring
to the handsome space Gundersen
Lutheran Medical Foundation has
occupied since April. The new
office suite, centrally located on the
third floor between the main clinic
and hospital, “puts us on one of the
busiest thoroughfares in the medical
center. We’re closer to patients
and staff, right in the main flow
of Gundersen Lutheran business,”
says Amborn, who served as project
manager during the long months of
planning and construction.
community volunteer, Tanke assumed
the role of goodwill ambassador with
her signature professionalism and
enthusiasm. “The Mrs. Oktoberfest
role is really one of the greatest forms
of recognition a woman can receive
in our community,” Tanke noted. “To
be included amongst what I think are
some of the most respected women
in our community is an honor.” In
the coming year, Tanke will be even
more visible throughout our region,
promoting community service
and sharing her personal passion
for the local arts and humanities.
Congratulations to Robyn, as well as
her family: husband Michael, sons
Ryan and Matthew, daughter-in-law
Katie and grandson Carson.
The project was seen as a special
opportunity to bring together
personnel working within the
Foundation’s mission—medical
education, research, development,
and administration—into a unified
space for the first time, with all
the accompanying synergy and
efficiencies. Modern amenities
include enhanced conference space
and advanced media capabilities,
including distance education links
to over 120 sites in the Gundersen
Lutheran network. The most striking
design feature incorporates the
original façade of the 1929 clinic
entrance into an open atrium concept.
