ADAMS OFFERS GRIEF AND LOSS GROUP To all Parents and Guardians; Adams Middle School is offering a grief and loss group. The Cove “Good Grief” School Program is for students who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, family member, friend or other significant person in their life. Although not a therapy group, students will be given the opportunity to share feelings related to their loss with other students in the school who have experienced a similar loss. The group will be facilitated by a Cove Facilitator and the school social worker. Participation in the group is voluntary for the students and requires your written permission. The group will meet for eight consecutive weeks, beginning after winter recess in December. Students are given handouts summarizing each session to share with their families. I welcome the opportunity to talk with anyone who might be interested in their child participating in this program. The group will meet after school from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Tuesdays. Please call me at 2034532755 extension 236 to discuss further. At the conclusion of the last session, you will be receiving an invitation to express any concerns or questions or just to discuss what has occurred during the program.
