unprepared occurred. Grading for a make up is the same as a regular class (4 points max.). There are NO make-ups for students that
choose to cut class.
Medical Excuses: All original medical notes signed by a physician are to be brought, by the student, to the Health office. A copy will be
given to the proper physical education teacher and placed on file. While under a medical excuse, students are expected to continue to
change into their physical education attire. Excuses from parents are respected by the physical education teacher for that class and the
student is required to change
Medicals: 1 day to 3 weeks: Students are EXPECTED to attend their regular PE class. Students are REQUIRED to change their
clothes and be involved in class. Modified activity will be provided.
Medicals: Beyond 3 weeks: Students who have a medical excuse, which lasts longer than a three-week time frame will be enrolled in
Adapted Physical Education. Students with special medical situations will be given an alternative assignment by their PE teacher.
Adapted Physical Education: This program is administered in the weight room to focus on the students strengths and keep them
physically active during their advisory block. Students will be signed to the library during their regular PE class. A member of the
physical education staff works closely with each student to accomplish personal goals. (For example, a student who has broken
his/her ankle and is on a medical excuse for 6 weeks will be placed on a program that focuses on upper body conditioning and
abdominal strength.)
Home Instruction: Students who are out of school for an extended period of time are REQUIRED to complete assignments that are
given by their physical education instructor. Assignments are due by the end of the marking period in order for the student to receive
credit.
