1. Inter S
GROUP T students can enjoy a full range of amenities both
on and off campus. At GROUP T itself students have computer
labs, a restaurant and a cafeteria at their disposal.
In addition, thanks to an agreement between both
institutes students can use the extensive infrastructure
of the KU Leuven.
For this purpose, GROUP T has established Inter S, jointly
managed by representatives of the management and
the students. Inter S has reached an agreement with the
KU Leuven and the Alma university restaurants, whereby
GROUP T students are granted access to the infrastructure
and amenities of the university. Inter S also provides
financial assistance to students who experience difficulties
in funding their studies. Furthermore, Inter S ensures that
GROUP T students can travel free by bus and by bicycle
around Leuven. They also can enjoy the cultural activities of
the STUK Arts Center.
automatically allocated your own electronic address for
e-mails as well as provided with sufficient space for your
own web page.
GROUP T students can make use of the University
Accommodation Service, the Service for Study Advice, the
Social Service (including the Legal Service, the Job Service
and the Service for Foreign Students), the Medical Centre,
officer between police and students in Leuven that will reply to your questions and
comments about the role of the police and provide explanations regarding traffic regulations,
noise pollution, quarrels with neighbours, etc. Moreover you can call on this
Open every working day during the academic year between 12.00 noon and 2.00 p.m.
GROUP T students can travel free around Leuven by bus or by bicycle. As far as the
bus is concerned, it’s quite simple. At the beginning of the academic year you receive
a free bus pass from De Lijn at the student secretarial office.
You have to collect your free bicycle yourself from the non-profit-making organization
VELO in Leuven. Inter S pays the rent of your bicycle for the entire academic
year. You only pay a guarantee of 50 euro which will be fully reimbursed when
you return the bicycle. On presentation of your identity card and student card (you
must be registered at GROUP T) you will be the owner of a free, rented bicycle for
a whole year. In addition, if technical problems occur, the bicycle can be repaired
at a very low cost. You can of course repair it yourself: for a few euros you can use
the tools and the workshop provided by VELO as well as benefiting from cheap spare
parts and free expert advice.
The free bus and bicycle are part of a ‘broader‘ mobility plan through which
GROUP T wishes to contribute to a greater environmental consciousness and a
new mobile mentality. VELO is located in the Hollestraat 1, 3001 Heverlee,
tel. 016-29 87 40. You can collect your bicycle every working day between the hours
