1. MR. F. M. M. MOLAO, MP. (TONOTA NORTH): To ask the Minister <strong>of</strong><br />
Youth, Sport and Culture to state his Ministry’s short to medium term<br />
plans to ensure that young people acquire land/plots which are currently<br />
in short supply to start up their businesses.<br />
2. MR. D. P. MAKGALEMELE, MP. (SHOSHONG): To ask the Minister <strong>of</strong> Local<br />
<strong>Government</strong> if primary schools backlog eradication programme still forms<br />
part <strong>of</strong> his development agenda in the Shoshong Constituency; if so,<br />
when will the projects promised under the backlog eradication schedule<br />
be delivered; he should further provide as an annexure to the answer,<br />
specifics.<br />
3. MR. W. B. MMOLOTSI, MP. (FRANCISTOWN SOUTH): To ask the Minister<br />
<strong>of</strong> Labour and Home Affairs what happened to the Societies Fund that<br />
was in the custody <strong>of</strong> his Ministry and to the money that was in that<br />
Fund.<br />
4. MR. S. TSOGWANE, MP. (BOTETI NORTH): To ask the Minister <strong>of</strong> Finance<br />
and Development Planning:-<br />

to update this Honourable House on current commercial bank<br />
charges levied on those depositing cash as opposed to cheque<br />
deposit;<br />

to state the charges as imposed by various commercial banks<br />
operating in the country;<br />
whether such charges are regulated and how; and<br />
to reconcile this situation with the existing low domestic savings.<br />
5. MR. R. MASITARA, MP. (GABORONE WEST NORTH): To ask the Minister<br />
<strong>of</strong> Defence, Justice and Security how many <strong>of</strong>fenders have served past or<br />
all <strong>of</strong> their sentences working on community projects in the Gaborone<br />
West North Constituency and the country at large.<br />
6. MR. F. M. M. MOLAO, MP. (TONOTA NORTH): To ask the Minister <strong>of</strong><br />
Local <strong>Government</strong>:-<br />

how many villages in the Tonota North Constituency have Bye-Law<br />
Enforcement Officers;<br />
to state the criteria used to place Enforcement Officers in those<br />
villages as opposed to others; and<br />
when all the deserving villages in the Constituency will get these<br />
<strong>of</strong>ficers.<br />
7. MR. D. P. MAKGALEMELE, MP. (SHOSHONG): To ask the Minister <strong>of</strong><br />
Education and Skills Development:-<br />

whether, as a strategy for primary school students to spend more<br />
time with their teachers and for studies in the afternoons within<br />
the school, she would consider negotiating with the Ministry <strong>of</strong><br />
Local <strong>Government</strong> to provide for two meals to the students; and<br />
if there are any case studies in the country where two meals are<br />
provided to primary schools to cater for positive opportunities for<br />
students detailed above.<br />
8. MR. W. B. MMOLOTSI, MP. (FRANCISTOWN SOUTH): To ask the Minister<br />
<strong>of</strong> Local <strong>Government</strong>:-<br />

how many lodges and hotels were licensed by the Francistown<br />
City Council in the last 6 months and the specific dates <strong>of</strong><br />
registration; and<br />
how long it takes for an application to be approved in the case <strong>of</strong><br />
the above.<br />
9. MR. S. TSOGWANE, MP. (BOTETI NORTH): To ask the Minister <strong>of</strong> Lands<br />
and Housing to explain the impute <strong>of</strong> a 99 Year Lease for residential plots<br />
contrary to the fact that citizens need a piece <strong>of</strong> land and shelter for<br />
their entire life and beyond for purposes <strong>of</strong> inheritance to their<br />

10. MR. R. MASITARA, MP. (GABORONE WEST NORTH): To ask the Minister<br />
<strong>of</strong> Finance and Development Planning what assessment he has made for<br />
the reimbursement <strong>of</strong> overpayments <strong>of</strong> Value Added Tax paid by<br />
individuals to companies which have subsequently gone into liquidation.<br />
11. MR. W. B. MMOLOTSI, MP. (FRANCISTOWN SOUTH): To ask the Minister<br />
<strong>of</strong> Youth, Sport and Culture if he is aware that the Constituency Art and<br />
Music Competitions have not been held since the beginning <strong>of</strong> the year; if<br />
so, what has happened to the programme.<br />
12. MR. I. S. MABILETSA, MP. (KGATLENG EAST): To ask the Minister <strong>of</strong><br />
Transport and Communications:-<br />

whether he is aware that the Kgatleng District Council transferred<br />
funds earmarked for the construction <strong>of</strong> a link road and bridge<br />
across Notwane River for Oodi and Matebeleng villages to other<br />
projects within the District before it was known that the<br />
Mmamashia/Mabalane road project would be deferred due to<br />
economic recession; if so,<br />
what plans are in place to provide the two villages with a road<br />
and bridge to address the concern <strong>of</strong> motorists connecting to the<br />
A1 road and the students commuting daily to Oodima Junior<br />
Secondary School.<br />

whether he is aware that keeping the finger prints record active<br />
after convicts are released goes against the objective <strong>of</strong><br />
rehabilitation; and<br />
if he will consider repealing the finger prints record to assist exconvicts<br />

3. MR. R. MASITARA, MP. (GABORONE WEST NORTH): To ask the Minister <strong>of</strong><br />
Labour and Home Affairs to state:-<br />

what steps will be taken against any person found to have<br />
obtained <strong>Botswana</strong> citizenship by deception;<br />
how many such cases have been reported since 2009; and<br />
how long it took for each case to surface.<br />
4. MR. W. B. MMOLOTSI, MP. (FRANCISTOWN SOUTH): To ask the Minister<br />
for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration to state:-<br />

the number <strong>of</strong> ex-convicts that have been pardoned by having<br />
their finger prints repealed from the record in the last five years;<br />
and<br />
the criteria followed when such pardons are done.<br />
5. MR. F. M. M. MOLAO, MP. (TONOTA NORTH): To ask the Minister <strong>of</strong><br />
Education and Skills Development:-<br />

when his Ministry will roll out the programme <strong>of</strong> equipping schools<br />
in Tonota North with computers and photocopiers amongst other<br />
things, which are in short supply to improve education in the area;<br />
and<br />
when electricity will be connected to such schools to support the<br />
IT equipment as promised.<br />
6. MR. R. MASITARA, MP. (GABORONE WEST NORTH): To ask the Minister <strong>of</strong><br />
Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to state the number <strong>of</strong> cars<br />
that were owned and leased overseas by <strong>Botswana</strong> Embassies in the last 5<br />
years and what the financial implications are.<br />
7. MR. K. S. RAMMIDI, MP. (KANYE NORTH): To ask the Minister <strong>of</strong><br />
Education and Skills Development to state:-<br />

the number <strong>of</strong> students that sat for Primary School Leaving<br />
Examinations in the years 2010 and 2011; and<br />
how many obtained grades D and E from both public and private<br />
schools respectively.<br />
8. MR. B. ARONE, MP. (OKAVANGO): To ask the Minister <strong>of</strong> Agriculture what<br />
informed his Ministry’s decision to construct permanent structures in<br />
veterinary camps given that most camps in Okavango have now been<br />
abandoned by the Department.<br />

9. MR. R. MASITARA, MP. (GABORONE WEST NORTH): To ask the Minister <strong>of</strong><br />
Health what recent research his Ministry has commissioned into the<br />
incidence, causes, treatment and prevention <strong>of</strong> allergies amongst<br />
children.<br />

the number <strong>of</strong> expatriate teachers employed by Kopano Primary<br />
School in Selebi Phikwe; and<br />
the qualification <strong>of</strong> such teachers.<br />
11. MR. F. M. M. MOLAO, MP. (TONOTA NORTH): To ask the Minister <strong>of</strong><br />
Youth, Sport and Culture whether there are any plans:-<br />

to build a Youth Centre in the Tonota North Constituency during<br />
the current financial year; if not, when can the youth <strong>of</strong> Tonota<br />
North expect such a facility; and<br />
to establish youth industries in this Constituency to enable the<br />
youth to incubate their projects amongst other things.<br />
12. MR. W. B. MMOLOTSI, MP. (FRANCISTOWN SOUTH): To ask the Minister<br />
<strong>of</strong> Local <strong>Government</strong> if he is aware that many volunteers <strong>of</strong> the Home<br />
Based Care programme in Francistown South have since abandoned it to<br />
enroll in the Ipelegeng programme which <strong>of</strong>fers better pay; if so, will he<br />
consider paying Home Based Care volunteers an amount equivalent to<br />
that <strong>of</strong> Ipelegeng.<br />
13. MR. B. ARONE, MP. (OKAVANGO): To ask the Minister <strong>of</strong> Agriculture if he<br />
is aware that buffalo fences in the whole <strong>of</strong> Okavango are non-existent;<br />
the Minister should further state what would make communities believe<br />
that his Ministry is serious in its efforts to fight Foot and Mouth Disease in<br />
this situation.<br />
14. MR. K. S. RAMMIDI, MP. (KANYE NORTH): To ask the Minister <strong>of</strong> Youth,<br />
Sport and Culture to state the number <strong>of</strong>:-<br />
