11.6 Public Access PUBLIC ACCESS Commercial and Club Waterfront Development PRIORITY FOR ACTION RESPONSIBILITY a All proposed commercial and/or club waterfront development is to incorporate public access along the foreshore. O Council, LAWC (CLS) b Council will not support any proposals which are likely to lead to a loss of existing public foreshore access. O Council, LAWC (CLS) c Public foreshore access which is available at commercial or club waterfront facilities is to be sign posted, indicating its availability, and be maintained at all times. O Council, LAWC (CLS) 11.7 Charter Boat Facilities CHARTER BOAT FACILITIES Commercial and Club Waterfront Development PRIORITY FOR ACTION RESPONSIBILITY a The operation of charter boats (ie loading and unloading passengers) and associated office functions from a commercial marina or commercial boatshed, other than simply the berthing of such vessels at marinas or commercial boatsheds, is considered by Council to be an integral part of the marina or boatshed, and accordingly, development consent is required from Council to permit this type of operations and to enable Council to fully assess the impact of such development. Such operations shall conform to state regulations associated with disposal of effluent. O Council, LAWC (CLS), Waterways Authority b Development application to Council for the operation of charter boat facilities as part of a commercial marina or boatshed must be accompanied with the following details: O Council, LAWC (CLS), Waterways Authority i ii iii iv v vi Size of the charter boat(s) to be accommodated at the marina or boatshed. Number of passengers that can be catered for by each vessel. Number of crew per vessel. Nominated berth(s) or mooring(s) for the securing of charter boat vessel(s). Hours of cruise operations. Car parking. c Development Consent will be required from Council to use public wharves for embarkation/disembarkation for prearranged charter or tour bookings where problems could be generated by lack of parking, access and sanitary facilities.
