Have specific regard for persons dependant on private water
transport for commuting purposes in considering development
applications for moorings and wet berths.
Rationalise boat moorings and wet berths by undertaking the
following:
i) Encourage and promote the removal from existing moorings
and wet berth boats that can easily be towed and launched at
launching ramps. Remove derelict vessels from moorings
through stricter controls and enforcement practices to enable
a more efficient use of existing moorings in Brisbane Water;

Promote and encourage the rationalisation and creation of
designated private mooring areas in terms of the relative
needs of licence holders for shore based support facilities (ie
public carparking, toilets, etc) and the availability of such
facilities along the foreshores;
Facilitate the provision of appropriate levels of mooring
numbers based on real demand for such facilities while having
due regard for the need to preserve the existing characters of
Brisbane Water.

Regulate mariculture proposals in accordance with the
following:
i) Undertake careful assessment of any mariculture proposals
within Brisbane Water to ensure that any detrimental impacts
associated with such activities will not occur within the
estuary;

There shall be no mariculture developments in or adjacent to
National Parks, aquatic reserves or areas covered by SEPP
14 - Wetlands, or any other sensitive mangrove, seagrass or
other ecologically sensitive biota;
Mariculture discharges should be in compliance with the
provisions of the Clean Waters Act; and
Ensure that oyster farming within Brisbane Water be
maintained and restricted to the agreed areas designated
under the oyster lease areas in Figure 10.
