SCENE AT THE GOODMAN A Desirable Evening On January 26, Goodman Theatre’s sponsors and guests celebrated the opening of Eugene O’Neill’s Desire Under the Elms after attending a special dinner at the Renaissance Hotel. Artistic Director Robert Falls’ presentation of this American classic was the centerpiece of an international exploration of O’Neill’s work. Ruined Opens at Manhattan Theatre Club On February 10, 2009, Lynn Nottage’s Ruined opened off- Broadway at Manhattan Theatre Club, where it transferred after its critically acclaimed world premiere at Goodman Theatre in November. This Goodman commission is a co-production with Manhattan Theatre Club. Goodman Theatre Executive Director Roche Schulfer was in attendance for the opening night. Desire Under the Elms Premiere Night On January 28, Premiere Society members were invited to dinner at Club Petterino’s, followed by a performance of Desire Under the Elms. Premiere Night celebrates the generosity of our loyal donors by treating them to an evening with the artists and the productions they support. Our Premiere Society members and Annual Fund members are the core of our giving family. Without our members, we would not be able to bring productions like Desire Under the Elms to our stage.
