capturing two individual titles in the 200 and
500 freestyle events at the NCAA

• Became the first Gator to qualify
for the NCAA meet at the Zone
B Championships after she

• Had her best finish of 17 th on the
platform at the NCAA

Caroline Burckle
• Seven-time All American
• Selected as the Honda Sports Award Winner
for Swimming and Diving
• Named the 2008 NCAA Swimmer of the Year
• Broke Janet Evans’ 20-year record in the 500
free en route to her first national championship
in the event (4:33.60)
• Won her second national championship of
2008 in the 200 free – setting a UF record
along the way (1:43.10)
• Picked up three SEC Championships (500 free,

Monica Dodson
• Earned All-America accolades after finishing
eighth on the platform
• Finished fourth on the 3M and seventh on the
platform at the SEC Championships
• Posted the Gators’ top score on all three diving
disciplines during the season
Elizabeth Goldson
• Finished 24 th in the 500 free and 1,650 free at
the 2008 NCAA Championships, swimming a
career-best in the later event
• Finished the season ranked 16 th in the SEC in
the 500 free and 1,000 free
Laurabeth Guenthner
• Picked up the first All-America honor as a
Gator after a career-best swim in the 1,650 free
that placed her sixth overall
• Finished in the top eight at the SEC
Championships in the 500 and 1,650 freestyle
• Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll
Amanda Hartley
• Received the third All-SEC nod of her career
after finishing second in the 200 breast
• Was the only Gator to swim both the 100 and
200 breast at this year’s NCAA
Championships, finishing in the top-35 in each
event

Colleen Healy
• Received three All-America honors, the first of
her career at the NCAA Championships
