<strong>LMN</strong> <strong>Excellence</strong> <strong>Awards</strong> <strong>held</strong> with flair<br />

The city <strong>of</strong> <strong>Rustenburg</strong> will never be the same after DCS staff from the <strong>LMN</strong> region flocked there<br />
for its Regional <strong>Excellence</strong> <strong>Awards</strong> on 25 November 2011, <strong>held</strong> <strong>at</strong> the Civic Centre. The awards<br />
serve as a pl<strong>at</strong>form where members are <strong>of</strong>ficially awarded for the excellent execution <strong>of</strong> their daily<br />
duties. In a flamboyant event in which quests dressed up as a pir<strong>at</strong>e along the theme <strong>of</strong> Pir<strong>at</strong>es <strong>of</strong><br />
the Caribbean, the night was regarded as a night <strong>of</strong> stars.<br />
Lewies Davies, Moses Nkabinde and Kosie Smit dance to the tune <strong>of</strong> Nkalak<strong>at</strong>a, enjoying the music and the<br />
celebr<strong>at</strong>ions after the awards present<strong>at</strong>ion.<br />
The awards were also used as a pl<strong>at</strong>form to bid farewell to the outgoing Acting Regional<br />
Commissioner, Ms Nontsikelelo Jolingana and welcoming the newly appointed Regional<br />
Commissioner, Mr Alfred Tsetsane, both <strong>of</strong> whom graced the occasion. In his speech, RC<br />
Tsetsana said th<strong>at</strong> the <strong>LMN</strong> region had acting commissioners for the last three years but finally, a<br />
permanent RC has been appointed. His intention he said was to take the region to gre<strong>at</strong>er heights<br />
to becoming the best region in the department.<br />
There was lot <strong>of</strong> competition in this year’s award and nobody could predict the winners in any <strong>of</strong><br />
the c<strong>at</strong>egories. The SAPS band rendered music items th<strong>at</strong> really got the audience into the l<strong>at</strong>est<br />
dance moves.
CDC Development and Care, Ms Nontsilekelolo Jolingana, DRC <strong>of</strong> <strong>LMN</strong>, Ms Lunga Tseana, RC <strong>of</strong> KZN,<br />
Mr Mnikelwa Nxele and the CDC ACSA and SADC, Ms Moodley <strong>at</strong>tended the awards ceremony dressed<br />
up as pir<strong>at</strong>es.<br />
