The Passover <strong>of</strong> gladness !<br />

The Passover <strong>of</strong> God !<br />

From Death to Life eternal,<br />

From this world to the sky,<br />

Our Chri<strong>st</strong> hath brought us over,<br />

With hymns <strong>of</strong> victory.&quot;<br />

But it<br />

may give a truer idea <strong>of</strong> its real form to<br />

subjoin Dr. Neale s literal rendering <strong>of</strong> one or two<br />

<strong>of</strong> the odes composing it :<br />

The Hirmcs.<br />

miracle from the barren rock, but the fountain <strong>of</strong> immor<br />

tality, Chri<strong>st</strong> having bur<strong>st</strong> from the tomb,<br />

$L ow are all things filled with light ;<br />

earth and heaven,<br />

and that which is under the earth. Now then let all creation<br />

keep fe<strong>st</strong>ival for the Resurrection <strong>of</strong> Chri<strong>st</strong>, in which it is<br />

e<strong>st</strong>ablished.<br />

f| e<strong>st</strong>erday, O Chri<strong>st</strong>, I was buried together with Thee;<br />

to-day with Thee arising I arise. Ye<strong>st</strong>erday I was crucified<br />

self in Thy Kingdom.<br />
