If the area to be hydroseeded is too steep for conventional equipment, 1/3 more seed shall be used. A brillion
or brillion type seeder shall be used with the urban mix and may be used with the semi-urban mix.
2. The seed furnished may be sampled and analyzed by a representative of the Nebraska Department of
Agriculture. If the seed tag analysis does not equal or exceed the sample analysis after application of the
tolerances allowed by “The Rules for Testing Seeds - Association of Official Seed Analysts”, contract unit
price adjustment may be made.
16.05 - Establishment Period
The contractor shall thoroughly water all seeded areas immediately after seeding. The contractor shall
keep all seeded areas thoroughly watered for a period of 14 calendar days after seeding and as often as
required thereafter until all other items of work in the contract have been completed. All grass must be
moist and growing at the time of acceptance. Areas of the seeded area which are not growing shall be
reseeded and watered for another 14 calendar days.
16.06 - Method of Measurement
The work of seeding will be measured by the acre, surface measurement, or surface seeded in accordance with
these specifications.
16.07 - Basis of Payment
The quantity of completed and accepted work, measured as provided herein, shall be paid for at the contract
unit price per acre for the item, “Seeding, Type * (mulching/erosion control) ”. Accepted work shall mean
that the grass is “green and growing” to the satisfaction of the engineer. If the grass seed is not growing to
