50 Dickson St. from 8-10:30am and then at Dolson 

Centre at 10:30am 

When registering for Semi-private lessons in CORAL you must 

register in a private time slot with payment. On the Monday 

following swim registration privates can be changed to a semiprivate 

so the second participant can be registered by 

contacting the Centre.

energy and enthusiasm for movement 

and learning. Activities are designed to 

develop co-ordination, gross motor skills 

and body awareness through exercise,

Kids) are comparable to any other Karate Program around town? 

Victor Del Hierro, a 5th degree black belt, has been the Shotokan Sensei here at the 

Johnson Centre for over 20 years. Sometimes his classes might get passed by 

parents and adults looking for a karate program for themselves or their children 

because it isn’t run out of a traditional Dojo or that there isn’t a sign outside the centre 

saying Karate. The Johnson Centre Karate program is a full fledged program with

SKate CAMBRIDGE 

Come ride! Our Skateboard program offers lessons for beginner and intermediate levels. Emphasis is on 

improving personal skateboard riding skills such as stance, balance, coordination, and stopping. Learn how 

to ride rails, stairs, ramps, and bowls. Participants are required to have their own skateboard and helmet (no 

bicycle or hockey helmets). Knee and elbow pads, along with wrist & shin guards, are recommended.

Annual Park Waiver Pass 

The park waiver must be completed annually to receive an annual park waiver pass that needs to 

presented at each visit. The Pipes and Rails waiver form can be found on the City of Cambridge 

website and is required to be completed annually. A parent or guardian signature is required if the 

participant is under the age of 18 year. 

RULES FOR PARK USAGE: 

1. Good behavior and attitude at all times 

2. Consideration and courtesy to others 

3. Helmets are compulsory (Can be signed out). Elbow, knee 

and wrist guards are strongly recommended. 

4. Scooters and BMX’s must have bar ends 

5. No pegs on scooters 

6. Bad language and attitudes will not be tolerated 

7. Clothing – singlet and shorts AT LEAST must be worn at 

all times. 

8. Footwear – covered shoes must be worn at all times 

9. No loitering – unless you are riding or supervising you are 

not permitted to be in the park 

10. No chewing gum or bubblegum while riding

The AccessCambridge Newsletter is a 

newsletter produced and distributed 

by the City of Cambridge, Community 

Services Department. Its purpose is to 

provide information on municipal 

services and recreation and leisure 

opportunities in the community for 

persons with disabilities. The 

newsletter is distributed three times a

Oops! We Cancelled it 

Sometimes excellent programs with 

super instructors are cancelled when 

too many people wait until the last 

minute to register. Don’t wait, avoid 

disappointment and register early! 

Cambridge Ice Hounds 

The purpose of the 

program is to provide 

an amateur athletic 

program for children 

and adults with 

developmental 

disabilities. The 

Program is open to players of any 

age, male or female, physically able to 

participate, but who are ineligible or 

unable to participate in an existing 

organized program due to his or her 

disability. The Cambridge Ice Hounds 

have scheduled weekly ice time for 

both practice and season play at the 

Galt Arena Gardens (98 Shade Street, 

Cambridge). NEW team members 

are always wanted! Registration can 

take place at anytime! It’s not just 

hockey...it’s EXERCISE, SOCIAL 

INTERACTION, CONFIDENCE, and 

ENJOYMENT! For information on

International Day of People 

with Disabilities 

December 3 2013 marks International 

Day of People with Disabilities. We 

are joining other municipalities in 

building awareness of the resources 

available for people with disabilities on 

a local and provincial level. The day is 

based on the goal of full and equal 

enjoyment of human rights and 

participation in society by all people 

regardless of ability. For more
