1. Arrivals<br />
a. To Jože Pučnik Airport Ljubljana<br />
Slovenia's main international airport, is <strong>si</strong>tuated about 25 kilometers north of Ljubljana. The airport is well connected with the<br />
major European cities.<br />
SSU Welcome group will pick you up at the airport. Look for someone holding the 15. ESC logo on the arrivals area. They will<br />
accompany you to the hostel. The welcome group will be at the airport on Thursday, March 13th, from 8:00 to 20:00. If you<br />
arrive out of the group's time-table, contact Jernej, SSU (+386 31 405 094) or mail to: info@15-esc.<strong>si</strong>.<br />
You are pleased to provide correct arrival information (mail to: info@15-esc.<strong>si</strong>) so we can organize transfer for everyone.<br />

b. To VeniceAirport (Marco Polo)<br />
If you are arriving to Venice, we recommend you to take the train to Ljubljana. When you arrive to Ljubljana, call Jelena, SSU<br />
(+386 51 336 910) and we will pick you up and take to the hostel.<br />
Train to Ljubljana: Euro City Casanova Train.<br />
For your travel from Italy we recommend the modern Euro City Casanova train, which runs from Ljubljana to Venice (Venezia<br />
Santa Lucia railway station) in four hours.<br />

Special offer (discount)<br />
If you travel in a group (two to five passengers), Friends&More offer gives you the pos<strong>si</strong>bility to pay a special price. The offer is<br />
available for travels from Ljubljana to Venice or v.v. by the Euro City train 60/61 “Casanova” or the Euro Night train 240/241<br />
“Venezia” from 7th January until 14th March 2008. The offer applies for seats in the 2nd class compartments, all passengers in<br />
the group must travel by the same train and on the same date. The tickets must be purchased at least 3 days before traveling.<br />

1. Ljubljana City public transport<br />
We will organize transport from the hostel Celica to the conference venue (and back). You are kindly asked to stick to the<br />
timetable.<br />
For some <strong>si</strong>ghtseeing, shopping or your other personal preferences you can travel around Ljubljana by public transport (bus).<br />
In order to make your staying in Ljubljana more comfortable and mobile, we would like to offer you some of the information<br />
about Ljubljana City Public Transport.<br />
Types of fares:<br />
Pay on the bus-the exact amount (1EUR) must be paid as the driver does not return change. The fare is paid upon entry and<br />
the money is depo<strong>si</strong>ted in the box next to the driver. Valid for one ride without transfers.<br />
- Tokens-are a cheaper way than paying in cash (0,80 EUR). Tokens can be bought at most of the tobacconist shops, at the<br />
Central bus station of Ljubljana and a number of shops and department stores as well as at the below mentioned LPP<br />
Information centers. The sales points are usually marked with green stickers with the inscription »ŽETONI« (meaning<br />
tokens). Each token is valid for one ride without transfer and must be depo<strong>si</strong>ted upon entry in the box next to the driver.<br />
•- Daily Tickes-are valid from 00.00 hrs to 24.00 hrs on the day of the purchase and for an unlimited number of rides an all bus<br />
city routes until they expire.<br />
- You can acquire tokens and all types of tickets at ticket sales points (LPP Information Centres):<br />

a. Hostel Celica<br />
Hostel CELICAis <strong>si</strong>tuated in the heart of Ljubljana, just 300m from the central railway and bus station and approximately 700m<br />
from the city center (Prešeren Square and old town). Hostel CELICA is a fully artistically renewed former prison on Metelkova<br />
street in the center of Ljubljana. The hostel is only 5 minutes walking distance from the main railway and bus station.<br />

“Metelkova street”<br />
Metelkova is an internationally renowned autonomous cultural zone <strong>si</strong>tuated on the <strong>si</strong>te of former military barracks the<br />
Slovene headquarters of the Yugoslav National Army.<br />
Metelkova is one of the few places where different types of live mu<strong>si</strong>c ranging from Free Jazz, Noise to Dub and Techno can be<br />
heard in peaceful coexistence. A number of artists have their studios at Metelkova. This also boasts one of the most open and<br />
creatively varied galleries for contemporary art not only in Slovenia but regionally, too. Metelkova is also one of the few places<br />
in Slovenia to offer migrants and asylum seekers, members of ethnic and other minorities, a pos<strong>si</strong>bility to openly socialize<br />
among themselves and with other people. For many years, Metelkova hosted the only fully fledged Women's centre, and it is<br />
today still the only place in the country with community run clubs for handicapped youth, gay and lesbians. Many campaigns<br />
against racism, various forms of individual as well as social violence, have been planned and carried out at Metelkova.<br />

B. Hostel Park<br />
Hotel Park is located within easy reach from the city center in the calm and green part of Ljubljana. With its view of Ljubljana<br />
Castle and in proximity of the train and bus station and medical centre of Ljubljana, it offers the guests everything on a <strong>si</strong>lver<br />
platter.<br />

Please ensure you vi<strong>si</strong>t the desk between these times to receive your conference pack and register your financial data.<br />

The Faculty of Administration has formed an applied and employer-oriented study and practice of public and bu<strong>si</strong>ness<br />
administration. We are well aware that good students not only have good grades, but they also have to be team-oriented and<br />
capable of getting the work done in a timely and appropriate fashion. In addition to study, it is practice and numerous extracurricular<br />
activities that enable the students to develop personally, as well as develop their talents and abilities.<br />
The Faculty of Administration is a modern faculty, which in addition to the topical knowledge of public administration, offers its<br />
students a variety of extracurricular activities. In this way we improve the students' quality of life and develop the students'<br />
sense of belonging at the Faculty. In cooperation with the Student Council and Student Organization, the Faculty develops<br />
extracurricular sections in culture, sports, extracurricular education, international cooperation, photography, and media. They<br />
also organize expert excur<strong>si</strong>ons, study vi<strong>si</strong>ts, and other shorter international student meetings.

Banking, Credit Cards andATM's<br />
- Official currency: EURO<br />
- Non-cash payments with credit or debit cards: through POS terminals.<br />
- Cards accepted for payment: MasterCard, Maestro, Visa, Visa Electron,Amex and Diners.<br />
- Cash withdrawal is pos<strong>si</strong>ble mainly with MasterCard and Visa cards (also: Maestro, Cirrus and Visa Electron Plus, where<br />
indicated by stickers on individual machines).<br />
- Banks are open weekdays between 9.00 and 12.00 and 14.00 and 17.00, and some on Saturdays between 9.00 and 12.00.<br />
Money can also be changed in exchange offices, at hotel reception desks, tourist agencies, petrol stations and larger<br />

Smoking<br />
The law prohibits smoking in all indoor public places and work areas in Slovenia. Smokers should use outdoor areas.<br />
Electricity<br />
Electric current in Slovenia runs at 230 volts, 50 Hz. Wall sockets are for two-pin plugs, and adapters can be bought at airports,<br />
department stores, hardware stores and specialist shops.<br />
