1. Arrivals
a. To Jože Pučnik Airport Ljubljana
Slovenia's main international airport, is situated about 25 kilometers north of Ljubljana. The airport is well connected with the
major European cities.
SSU Welcome group will pick you up at the airport. Look for someone holding the 15. ESC logo on the arrivals area. They will
accompany you to the hostel. The welcome group will be at the airport on Thursday, March 13th, from 8:00 to 20:00. If you
arrive out of the group's time-table, contact Jernej, SSU (+386 31 405 094) or mail to: info@15-esc.si.
You are pleased to provide correct arrival information (mail to: info@15-esc.si) so we can organize transfer for everyone.
If get lost, call Jernej, SSU (+386 31 405 094) or Jelena, SSU (+386 51 336 910).
In the similar way, transportation back to the airport will be organized (by SSU) on Monday.

b. To VeniceAirport (Marco Polo)
If you are arriving to Venice, we recommend you to take the train to Ljubljana. When you arrive to Ljubljana, call Jelena, SSU
(+386 51 336 910) and we will pick you up and take to the hostel.
Train to Ljubljana: Euro City Casanova Train.
For your travel from Italy we recommend the modern Euro City Casanova train, which runs from Ljubljana to Venice (Venezia
Santa Lucia railway station) in four hours.
Range of services available on the Casanova train:

bistro (cold and warm drinks and snacks),
•
electric connections to 220 V in 1st class, possibility of connecting a PC,
•
30 seats in 1st class,
•
134 seats in 2nd class, and
•
2 places for disabled people.
For the Casanova EC 60 and EC 61 trains, a seat reservation is obligatory.
Special offer (discount)
If you travel in a group (two to five passengers), Friends&More offer gives you the possibility to pay a special price. The offer is
available for travels from Ljubljana to Venice or v.v. by the Euro City train 60/61 “Casanova” or the Euro Night train 240/241
“Venezia” from 7th January until 14th March 2008. The offer applies for seats in the 2nd class compartments, all passengers in
the group must travel by the same train and on the same date. The tickets must be purchased at least 3 days before traveling.

1. Ljubljana City public transport
We will organize transport from the hostel Celica to the conference venue (and back). You are kindly asked to stick to the
timetable.
For some sightseeing, shopping or your other personal preferences you can travel around Ljubljana by public transport (bus).
In order to make your staying in Ljubljana more comfortable and mobile, we would like to offer you some of the information
about Ljubljana City Public Transport.
Types of fares:
Pay on the bus-the exact amount (1EUR) must be paid as the driver does not return change. The fare is paid upon entry and
the money is deposited in the box next to the driver. Valid for one ride without transfers.
- Tokens-are a cheaper way than paying in cash (0,80 EUR). Tokens can be bought at most of the tobacconist shops, at the
Central bus station of Ljubljana and a number of shops and department stores as well as at the below mentioned LPP
Information centers. The sales points are usually marked with green stickers with the inscription »ŽETONI« (meaning
tokens). Each token is valid for one ride without transfer and must be deposited upon entry in the box next to the driver.
•- Daily Tickes-are valid from 00.00 hrs to 24.00 hrs on the day of the purchase and for an unlimited number of rides an all bus
city routes until they expire.
- You can acquire tokens and all types of tickets at ticket sales points (LPP Information Centres):

1. Accommodation
a. Hostel Celica
Hostel CELICAis situated in the heart of Ljubljana, just 300m from the central railway and bus station and approximately 700m
from the city center (Prešeren Square and old town). Hostel CELICA is a fully artistically renewed former prison on Metelkova
street in the center of Ljubljana. The hostel is only 5 minutes walking distance from the main railway and bus station.

“Metelkova street”
Metelkova is an internationally renowned autonomous cultural zone situated on the site of former military barracks the
Slovene headquarters of the Yugoslav National Army.
Metelkova is one of the few places where different types of live music ranging from Free Jazz, Noise to Dub and Techno can be
heard in peaceful coexistence. A number of artists have their studios at Metelkova. This also boasts one of the most open and
creatively varied galleries for contemporary art not only in Slovenia but regionally, too. Metelkova is also one of the few places
in Slovenia to offer migrants and asylum seekers, members of ethnic and other minorities, a possibility to openly socialize
among themselves and with other people. For many years, Metelkova hosted the only fully fledged Women's centre, and it is
today still the only place in the country with community run clubs for handicapped youth, gay and lesbians. Many campaigns
against racism, various forms of individual as well as social violence, have been planned and carried out at Metelkova.

B. Hostel Park
Hotel Park is located within easy reach from the city center in the calm and green part of Ljubljana. With its view of Ljubljana
Castle and in proximity of the train and bus station and medical centre of Ljubljana, it offers the guests everything on a silver
platter.
4. Registration desk
SSU will open a registration desk for the participants at following times:
Thursday: 12:00 22:00
Fryday: 8:00 10:00
Please ensure you visit the desk between these times to receive your conference pack and register your financial data.
The registration desk will be at Hostel Celica (Metelkova 8, Ljubljana).

We will organize bus transport from the Hostel to the venue.
The Faculty of Administration has formed an applied and employer-oriented study and practice of public and business
administration. We are well aware that good students not only have good grades, but they also have to be team-oriented and
capable of getting the work done in a timely and appropriate fashion. In addition to study, it is practice and numerous extracurricular
activities that enable the students to develop personally, as well as develop their talents and abilities.
The Faculty of Administration is a modern faculty, which in addition to the topical knowledge of public administration, offers its
students a variety of extracurricular activities. In this way we improve the students' quality of life and develop the students'
sense of belonging at the Faculty. In cooperation with the Student Council and Student Organization, the Faculty develops
extracurricular sections in culture, sports, extracurricular education, international cooperation, photography, and media. They
also organize expert excursions, study visits, and other shorter international student meetings.

9. Some more tips
Banking, Credit Cards andATM's
- Official currency: EURO
- Non-cash payments with credit or debit cards: through POS terminals.
- Cards accepted for payment: MasterCard, Maestro, Visa, Visa Electron,Amex and Diners.
- Cash withdrawal is possible mainly with MasterCard and Visa cards (also: Maestro, Cirrus and Visa Electron Plus, where
indicated by stickers on individual machines).
- Banks are open weekdays between 9.00 and 12.00 and 14.00 and 17.00, and some on Saturdays between 9.00 and 12.00.
Money can also be changed in exchange offices, at hotel reception desks, tourist agencies, petrol stations and larger
supermarkets.
Post Offices
Post offices are open from 8.00 to 18.00 on weekdays and from 8.00 to 12.00 on Saturdays.
Smoking
The law prohibits smoking in all indoor public places and work areas in Slovenia. Smokers should use outdoor areas.
Electricity
Electric current in Slovenia runs at 230 volts, 50 Hz. Wall sockets are for two-pin plugs, and adapters can be bought at airports,
department stores, hardware stores and specialist shops.
