DIUI sows were injected i.m. with 1,250 I.U. of eCG 24 hours postweaning and 750 I.U. hCG 96 hours postweaning;
they were inseminated once in one uterine horn if they expressed estrus within 24 hours of the hCG injection.
Non-hormone-treated sows with a weaning-to-estrus interval of 4 days were selected for standard AI were
inseminated at 0 and 24 hours post estrus onset.
IUI and conventional AI sows inseminated at 0 and 24 hours postestrus onset. No hormone treatments used.
