and in tape-shaped, not narrow and bifid tooth. From Varidentella latelacunata<br />

(Venglinsky) it differs in more circular test shape, lower aperture<br />

and tooth and flattened sutures.<br />

Our form corresponds to the comparative specimens of Varidentella<br />

reussi (Bogdanowich), kindly given the author by A. K. Bogdanowich,<br />

they however differ from the comparative specimens of Varidentella sarmatica<br />

(Karrer) from Nexing in the Vienna Basin.<br />

Distribution. - Poland: Lower Sarmatian, (Mach6w, Miechocin, Mokrzysz6w,<br />

Piaseczno, Rytwiany). Austria: Lower Sarmatian, Nexing.<br />

USSR: Lower Sarmatian, Precaucasian and Ukraine.<br />

Material. - 60 specimens (CoIl. No. F-194, Sec. No. 135-138).<br />

Dimensions: L 0.3-0.65; B 0.27-0.54; T 0.2-0.35<br />

Description. - Test nearly circular, periphery broadly rounded; chambers<br />

broad, inflated, middle chamber large, irregularly oval, strongly<br />

convex, fifth chamber poorly visible or invisible; sutures broad, depressed;<br />

wall thin; surface smooth, polished, covered with irregular transverse<br />

wrinkles in larger specimens; aperture large, semicircular, with small,<br />

ridge-like tooth, occasionally partly reduced or lacking; aperture border<br />

strongly sloping, sometimes nearly perpendicular to the periphery and<br />

everted in some specimens.
