The Museum of Monarchy and the Tower of Trongsa
International Museum Day (18 May, 2011)
Conference, educational programme, participation in the event
The Museum of Monarchy is a young institution established in the year 2008 and consisting of 14 staff and 11
galleries. Attending the International Museum Day conference would enhance the knowledge of the staff and
museum functioning. Such international activity will be very useful for a small art museum in a less developed
country such as Bhutan. The museum staff has never participated to such an event and it would be quite
interesting and knowledge-focused to attend it.
Museum Geologi
Olympics for Earth Sciences and Geography (around 18 May, 2011)
Educational programme.
This programme is a kind of competition on earth sciences and geography involving high-school students. As a
geology museum, we want to increase students' knowledge of earth sciences and geography, and help them
gain a broader understanding of museums. Olympics for Earth Sciences and Geography are a national
competition in Indonesia, and this year is the second time it will be held. May is also our museum's
anniversary. On 16 May, 2011, Museum Geologi will celebrate its 82nd anniversary.
