CAMA IMD Celebration (May 18 and 19, 2011)<br />

<strong>The</strong> Central Arizona Museum Association is a member association serving museums in central Arizona, USA.<br />

Each year CAMA invites institutional members to post IMD celebrations on the CAMA website. This year<br />

eleven museums will celebrate IMD on May 18 or 19.<br />

In solidarity with the IMD theme <strong>of</strong> "<strong>Museums</strong> and Memory” seven CAMA member associations submitted<br />

photographs <strong>of</strong> artifacts, documents, and exhibitions for inclusion in the Arizona Memory Project (AMP). AMP<br />

is an ongoing project <strong>of</strong> the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records. <strong>The</strong> new CAMA <strong>International</strong><br />

Historical and Cultural Society <strong>of</strong> Clay County<br />

<strong>The</strong> HCSCC collects, preserves, and presents the history and culture <strong>of</strong> Clay County and the region. <strong>The</strong><br />

museum’s Hjemkomst Viking Ship and full-scale replica <strong>of</strong> Norway’s Hopperstad Stave Church make the<br />

museum one <strong>of</strong> America’s premier destinations for Scandinavian heritage. <strong>The</strong> HCSCC also hosts traveling<br />

exhibits in 7,000 sq. feet <strong>of</strong> temporary exhibition space. <strong>The</strong> HCSCC is a community resource for 150,000<br />

people in the Fargo-Moorhead metro area and serves an average <strong>of</strong> 40,000 visitors a year from all over the<br />

world.<br />
