Cultural heritage through artistic activity (18 May, 10am)<br />

This event was organised in order to involve each educational<br />
institution <strong>of</strong> the Ate Vitarte academy in the celebration <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>International</strong> Museum Day. It is an artistic activity that evokes<br />
cultural heritage through different disciplines: dance, theatre<br />
and singing.<br />
Dance: typical <strong>of</strong> the country’s different regions, such as the<br />
“Huaylas”, which comes from the Central Sierra and<br />
particularly from the Junin region, and is a representation <strong>of</strong><br />
potatoes harvesting.<br />
<strong>The</strong>atre: Through this art, learning more about the functions<br />
and everyday life <strong>of</strong> the curaca <strong>of</strong> Puruchuco, as well as the<br />
production and development <strong>of</strong> community celebrations.<br />
Singing: interpretation <strong>of</strong> Andean music with pre-Hispanic<br />
instruments.<br />

Museum and memory at Museo de la Nación (Tuesday -<br />
Sunday, from 9am to 5pm)<br />
Free entrance. Opening, visit and performance.<br />
Temporary exhibition “<strong>The</strong> bridge <strong>of</strong> Q'eswachaka: Andean<br />
engineering and tradition”<br />
Photography exhibition <strong>of</strong> the renovation <strong>of</strong> the bridge,<br />
including the preparation <strong>of</strong> the ropes, called q'eswas, and the<br />
three days <strong>of</strong> construction. This type <strong>of</strong> work is still carried out<br />
today and dates from the Inca period. <strong>The</strong> plaiting is done by<br />
the Huinchiri, Chaupibanda, Choccayhua et Ccollana Quehue<br />
farming communities <strong>of</strong> the Canas province in Cusco.<br />
