will show the video “Las rutas de la esclavitud: una visión global”, directed by UNESCO, with the participation<br />

<strong>of</strong> Doctor Rina Cáceres, expert in this field.<br />

We will also participate, as many museums <strong>of</strong> the country, to the Night <strong>of</strong> <strong>Museums</strong>.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Altos de Chavon Regional Museum <strong>of</strong> Archaeology has invited the public schools in the eastern town <strong>of</strong><br />

San Rafael de Yuma to tell the history and traditions <strong>of</strong> the town through objects, in a theatrical presentation<br />

to an open air audience.<br />

<strong>The</strong> animation will begin in the afternoon with scientific activities for the general public (conferences about<br />

archeological excavations, presentation <strong>of</strong> excavation material by archeologists, film screenings…).<br />

Meanwhile, families will discover workshops <strong>of</strong> Amerindian artistic practices (corporeal paintings, drawings on<br />

calabash, music…).<br />

Finally, during the evening, contemporary artists will present their pieces <strong>of</strong> Amerindian inspiration and the<br />

public will be entertained with a concert <strong>of</strong> lambis conch and storytellers’ performances in the park.<br />
