The artist Jean Winance spent the first 30 years of his life in Binche, Belgium. Despite moving to Tournai, he remained attached to the Carnival of Binche, which he attended every year and which was the subject of many of his works. From 17 May to 19 June, 2011, the museum will exhibit engravings – mostly from a recent donation by the artist’s son, paintings and drawings by Jean Winance, and objects related to the artist’s life (documents, portraits, tools, etc.). "Our museum and its collections" is a photo exhibition. It presents the building of the museum, which is a cultural monument in late baroque style. It also presents the Ethnographic house of the museum. Emphasis is on some popular exponents. Among them is the Good Shepherd - a unique marble statue, dated from the 4th century. Unique is also the early Christian marble cross with relief decoration with oak twigs. Additional exponents are objects of the daily round, which tell the history of the Bulgarian people during different periods. Each object is present with a photo and a short annotation.
