The study shows that 60% of all graduates did work
above the average. Pupils are not recommended as
being qualihed to do work of a higher grade unless
they rank in the upper half of the class. Of this
group 82% did work above average and only one pupil
was reported as doing unsatisfactory work.
From this study we conclude that pupils who rank
in the upper half of their classes in the academy are
well qualified to do advanced work creditably and that
those who rank in the third quarter may do satisfactory
work with sufficient effort. There are six additional
pupils who will enter schools within a year
thus bringing the number who attend higher schools
well over fifty percent of all graduates.
Physical
Education
The work of this department has been strengthened
by the addition of textbook instruction in hygiene and
sanitation. Also the school nurse now assists in checking
up the correction of remedial defects. There is
still need for co-operation on the part of parents in the
matter of correction of remedial defects, especially irt
the care of the teeth.
The Physical Education department should be given
liberal appropriations until it is adequately equipped
to render the service it can render. No single factor
