Ward’s Cell Culturing Kit<br />

This innovative system allows students to learn about culturing of adherent and<br />

non-adherent cells without the need for gas or humidity control. A patented<br />

chamber design establishes a gas exchange rate that maintains a 0.2% CO 2<br />

growing environment and reduces dehydration to virtually zero. This means<br />

that you can provide your students with cell culture skills and experience using<br />

just your traditional bench top incubator.<br />

Ward’s Patented Petaka G3 Chamber allows:<br />

• Anchorage and growth of adherent cells on all internal surfaces<br />

(150cm2 surface area)<br />

• Increased protection against contamination; no caps or long necks<br />

that invite contaminants into the flask<br />

• Thin design allows use of a common compound microscope for<br />

viewing cells (up to 40X dry objective)<br />

• Low fill volume of 20mL can support up to<br />

15 million (1.5 x 107 ) cells<br />

• Spill proof operation for student safety<br />

Ward’s Cell Culture Kit comes with Petaka G3 Culture Flasks, blunt tip needles,<br />

syringes, biological reagents, an instruction manual, and materials for eight<br />

Filter allows self regulated gas exchange and the maintenance<br />

of a 0.2% CO 2 environment. Also designed to<br />

make the Petaka “leak proof.”<br />

Liquid Access Port—For adding and extracting liquid<br />

media, cells, antibiotics, trypsin, stain, and more. Port<br />

can be easily disinfected and is suitable for use with blunt<br />

tip needles as well as micropipette tips.<br />

Inner Chamber—sterile chamber protected from the<br />

environment. Supports suitable cell growth on all<br />

surfaces; ideal for most adherent and non adherent cell<br />

types. The 150 cm 2 surface area is made of untreated<br />

crystal polystyrene.<br />

Outer Chamber—Includes a micro channel system that allows<br />

liquid to be added and removed without exposing the inner<br />

chamber to the environment. Also prevents dehydration.<br />

Internal Gate to the Chamber—This gate is where liquid<br />

enters and fills the inner chamber from the bottom up.<br />
