9) Important differences exist in lipoprotein profiles between dogs with pancreatitis and<br />

healthy control dogs. Dogs with pancreatitis have higher LDL fractions (mainly LDL 2 ,<br />

LDL 3 , and LDL 4 ) and lower TRL and HDL fractions (mainly HDL 2a and HDL 3c ) than<br />

healthy control dogs. These changes in lipoprotein profiles are evident in the majority of<br />

dogs with pancreatitis, even in those dogs with serum concentrations of triglyceride and<br />

cholesterol within the reference interval.
