"<strong>Beilschmiedia</strong> zapoteoides vel aff.", because the flowers <strong>of</strong> the type collection and the<br />
Salvadorian collection appear to be abnonnal (leaves are diseased, and the number <strong>of</strong> cells in<br />
the stamens <strong>of</strong> the third whorls are variable, from two to zero) and one cannot delimitate the<br />
<strong>species</strong> based on such poor material only. If this various number <strong>of</strong> the anther cells are an<br />
ordinary condition for this <strong>species</strong>, it would be very interesting because the <strong>species</strong> might be<br />
regarded as a transitional stage from the <strong>species</strong> with 9 fertile stamens to the <strong>species</strong> with 6<br />
fertile stamens. But it would be judged only after the examination <strong>of</strong> more and better<br />
materials.<br />
